Charlotte airport help

Pensacola to Charlotte flight arives 11:04, connecting flight leaves 11:43. Any chance we can make that? We have never been to Charlotte airport. Pretty nervous about making this connection.

Streamlined. Great airport imo.

Mainline to mainline? Mainline to regional carrier (737/A321 to a E145/CRJ900)? Ended up doing D8 to E44 last week with an hour layover and that was fine. Use the restroom before you get off the plane so you don't have to stop on your way.
I'm not a fan of the Charlotte airport if you come in at the end of B or C and have to go to the end of E or far end of A. The gates at the end of those piers were not meant for boarding 6 planes at the same time
When is the flight? If it's not scheduled for a while, I'd expect a schedule change and that might make the layover longer or allow you to switch to another flight option

Thanks, y'all. It is in September, so a change could happen. I am going to chill now and try not to worry about it.

It's certainly possible, but my connections in Charlotte are typically quite a long walk to the next gate in a different terminal more often than any other airport. Make sure you review the airport layout ahead of time & know exactly how to get to the connecting gate before you get off the plane.
Charlotte is also the only airport I've been in where they wouldn't allow us to board our connecting flight even though the plane was still at the gate & remained there for 30 minutes after we arrived at the gate. I suspect they gave our seats away because they thought our flight was gonna arrive later than it did, but all they would tell us is that we would be rebooked on a later flight, which ended up being 7 hours later.

What size plane, where you sitting? If arrives at gate at 1104 and not front half of a 320 or 737 you prob wont get off for another 10-15 min.
So you'll realistically have 15 min to get to gate if the agents shut the door 10m prior to departure.
Charlotte is a looooong airport if you're in different terminals. Just don't slow down to try out the rocking chairs throughout and you may make it.
Good luck.

Not sure about a transfer.
Charlotte is the absolute worst airport that I have ever had to check in for a flight for departure. Arrived at terminal 2.5 hours early for a domestic flight and had to sprint to gate and barely made it before the door closed. I will avoid this airport port at all costs for a departing flight.

Easy to hustle from gate A to E. I do it once a week. Key is sitting toward the front of the plane on the first leg so you can get off quick. As long as you don’t have any problems during the taxi to the gate you are good. Just hustle.

CLT usually takes forever to taxi once you land. I've made a connection from B to E with about an hour delay before, but if you get off schedule any, you probably won't make it.

Very large and crowded airport so it will be tough.

Yes, but arrival time factors in normal taxi times, barring your gate being occupied or something else out of the norm.

If you’re flying American don’t worry, your connection will be delayed!

Isn't CLT an American Hub?
I remember years ago flying in and out for work and splitting between SW and UA. At that point, SW only had 2 gates and 75% of the time, we'd arrive and sit for 30m waiting for the gate to open. It was a clusterfrick.

I am there now. We sat on runway 10 minutes waiting for our gate. I was in exit row, aisle seat. Walked from B to E pretty quickly. If you can move as close to front as you can, it will help. Yes. Do not stop for anything!

As AA has deteriorated as an airline, the CLT experience also has.
Had a connection to HTS there that was cancelled, I ask to at least get me close, the only guidance from the AA ticket agent was to wait until tomorrow.
I go to AA.com and have my choice of CRW (1.25 hours) or LEX (2.0 hours).
Shitbirds.

Usually boards late but that is built into flight time
