Just got back. I like how you can get to everywhere really easily. Great Italian food in North end. Lots of good seafood. I tried 3 lobster rolls in one day.
Love being a pedestrian there. You can step out in a 4 lane highway and everyone will stop for you.

Missed this because wife and kids hate boats. I had to twist their arms to do a sunset cruise. I asked people getting off the whale boats off they saw anything and they had video of a minke with calf and two humpbacks that followed the boat a good bit.

I stayed "way out in East Boston" in Jefferies point. Had a nice airbnb apartment. Corner of Orleans and Webster. Had Cunard Tavern right there. Also walked to Kelley's which is a great local Boston tavern. The local Pizza Express I saw on DDD closed (for sale building and business $1.5m).
Anyway. I had a 7pm boat ride. Decided to leave apartment at 5:45 we were at he harbor before 6. The T came every 5 minutes and Maverick was right there. I was glad I didn't pay extra to stay downtown.

We loved the walk. We walked the Kennedy Greenway, the freedom trail, all throughout Jefferies point and Maverick, downtown, the commons and then the Harvard area. My kids are pissed at me. We pegged 78 miles last week of walking in NY and Boston.

I want to go right back to Boston. That's a gem of a city. It was so clean and nice after a trip to New York. Except for the pay toilets. Those are nasty.

The T is great. We also took it to Revere beach. Nice spot but the Gulf of Maine is so cold. Water temp was 60° that's 10 degrees cooler than Barton Springs.

Nice to have a beach 15 minutes by train and be 5 minutes from the harbor or 10 from the old state house.

Giacomo's is cash only and their ATM is $5. Good food though.
They are open late. We went at 9:30 for dinner after a boat ride.

Only regret was not having more time. I should have cut two days off NYC. I'll be back to Boston soon.

Tell me more about Jeffries Point? Everything I’ve read says stag downtown? Overrated?

Eta : I use Hyatt points and can stay in Cambridge for a good bit cheaper.

Cambridge is a fine place to stay, especially if you’re close to a T stop. Hell cambridge itself is amazing it’s just not where the touristy things are.

AbitaFan, we have 4 couples going up in Mid October. Staying in Squantom at Orchard Beach. With that size group we will not get a rental car.
How easy is it to get to Boston from there? We are right on the water. Thanks

I'm currently in Seaport near the Harbor and everything is accessible through public transport or walking.

I wish I was at the Seaport Trillium right now and not feeling like I’m about to melt in Houston.

Jefferies point has a lot of trendy places. Look into Tall Ship boston that was really happening. It's one subway stop from downtown and they also have a large Cider house you can tour and drink at. Plus Cunard tavern is a hot spot and Kelley's square pub was a cool beighborhood dive. Every boxer and professional wrestler you can name has a signed picture on the wall.

The area was very walkable. There was a larger Hispanic population near the Maverick square but it was very clean. I would stay in that area again as it was so much cheaper yet convenient. It was $725 for 4 nights airbnb.
2 bed room apartment on a 3rd floor walk up.

I'm going back without the wife and kids later in year. Going to tag along with some reason fans I know to see the parts I couldn't see on a family trip.

Sox tickets secured.

Was thinking if heading to Time Out and Trillium for lunch (7:10 game). May sound like a stupid question but where is the entrance to Time Out. None of that was open on our last trip (COVID)

The wife and I are doing a Canada/New England cruise out of Boston a few months from now. We are only spending a couple of days in Boston; gonna do the U.S.S. Constitution and a few other touristy things. The question I have is this: Where do I go in Boston for the best New England clam chowder?

I think clam chowder is extremely mediocre so I actually can’t help you with this one.

Probably a touristy spot like Union Oyster House.
