I went this past week and was grossly disappointed. Barely any sauce on either of my pizzas.

I did have an INCREDIBLE dinner at Toscano's on Beacon Hill. I would say its the best Italian out of the North End.

Carmelinas is outstanding. Right near Modern Pastry, which is also recommended. I also like Saltie Girl off of Newbury.

The Verb is a cool funky hotel right next to Fenway and walking distance to Newbury and many restaurants.

Backwards. Much easier to get a ride to Charlestown than out from Charlestown.

I love Portland, but you’d spend 5+ hours driving for a day trip. I’ve done it before but I think your time could be better spent.

Also, Patriots tickets are notoriously expensive and getting in and out of there sucks. Unless you’re dying to go, I wouldn’t do it.

We just got back and had an absolute blast! Stayed at the Fairmont Copley Place in Back Bay, which turned out to be an excellent location. Had wonderful dinners at Sorrelina, Grill 23, and Yvonne's. Zero complaints. We had reservations at Mamma Maria the last night but I cancelled them (I know, shame on me) because we didn't want to be encumbered by a reservation on the last night. The bar in the Fairmont is awesome and the food is great, as well.

We walked the Freedom Trail, strolled through Harvard, drank coffee from Tatte and wandered through the park and Beacon Hill. Saw Jim Gaffigan at the Boch Center/Wang Theater (which is absolutely gorgeous) and had an all around excellent time. Boston is an A+ town!
