The Biden administration is preparing new travel rules for everyone entering the U.S. by air, regardless of vaccination status. Rules are expected to be announced Thursday.

Negative Covid-19 test within one day of travel rather than three days
Possible requirement for a second test 3-5 days after arrival
Even potential 7 day self-quarantine requirement on return for all travelers, backed by fines

The new policy “could take effect in a week or two.”

Also you know Biden is never gonna ease these restrictions anytime soon, even when the "Muh Omicron!" hysteria dies down. We're going to have to deal with this shite for the next 2+ years and they'll probably add more hoops between now and then.

I assume they’ll try it with internal travel, if they can get away with it

The current testing rule has always been from departure, not within arrival so travel time shouldn't matter, unless probably you have a layover over 24 hours which means your second flight is the departure flight.

This hasn't been the case with some countries so there's one bright spot.

And how would they enforce this?

Send the gestapo to your house?

Not since its been exposed that they really do nothing to stop the spread... Just limit severity once you get it.

Why would anyone downvote this? Are people really that naive? Or really just that stupid? Probably a combination of both I imagine.

This is why the 2022 midterms are beyond crucial.

I have a cruise scheduled in January. Round trip sailing out of Orlando. Anyone know how this applies to cruises (if at all)?

That applies to non-citizens entering the country.

More than likely, cruise lines will make tests available.

A republican Congress won't be able to do anything about these rules any more than a democrat congress could do about rules trump imposed.....unless they get a senate super majority which ain't happening.

Leaving for the BVIs in the morning so I hope I don't have to quarantine when I get back. I told my boss there's a possibility he won't see me for a couple of weeks because of it though.
