Downtown proper doesn't have a whole lot going on although any hotel in downtown is close to the entertainment spots like Uptown, Deep Ellum, Bishop Arts,Lower Greenville and Henderson Ave.

The new Marriott in uptown
The Melrose in uptown
W in victory park

When I stay in Dallas, I stay there. Nick & Sam's and Uchi are right there.

Not a bad walk to high end bars or day drinking spots like Katy Trail Icehouse.

Ritz
Stoneleigh
The Mansion
Crescent
Zaza

All have bars/scenes within walking distance or a very short Uber ride.

Honestly I would take the Mansion off the list. It hasn't had a facelift in a long long time and they still charge like they are the top dog in town. Ritz, Cresent, Stoneleigh Would be my recs.

Edit* We just stayed at the Melrose a couple of months ago, that place was great, and a bargain compared to some of the others on the list.

I was just there 2 weeks ago, the room looked brand new, lobby was super nice.

I don't know if they redid it or not, but nothing I saw needed a face-lift. This is exactly what the room looked like.

The Crescent is one of my favorite go-to hotels, but admittedly it's boring. It's just very consistent and well-executed IMO.

The Crescent is pretty effing great. It’s our first choice when we have to do overnight shite in Dallas.

I stayed here a few weeks ago. Great hotel. Right across the street from Stoneleigh P, which is a cool bar. Would definitely stay there again.

If downtown...Thompson hotel. Monarch restaurant is on the top floor, like 54th floor or something. They have a cool lounge up there too and a bar on a lower floor.

Deep Ellum...Pittman hotel. You can walk to all the bars there.
