Anyone know if there are mask mandates in Asheville? Want to take a quick trip with the wife, but not going anywhere with mask mandates. Anyone know if Asheville is doing this? I'm fairly certain i know the answer, considering how liberal that place is.

A 3 second google search reveals that there is an indoor mandate through at least 10/29.

I can google too, asshat. But just because there was a mandate in August, doesn't mean it's practiced or current. Thus the question, to anyone who may have been recently, or anyone that lives in the area.

There’s an article from October 7th saying it was extended to October 29th, hence my original response not mentioning anything from August.

Honest question, but is this out of "pride," or do you have a good reason for not going somewhere with a mask mandate? Been to multiple cities with indoor mandates - hardly precludes anything. Most bars/restaurants will only ask that you throw it on if you go to the bathroom.

Guess it depends where you are, but I live in Chicago and we have an indoor mandate, too. Honestly, have hardly noticed much difference from early summer when those mandates were dropped.

1) i don't know if it's pride rather than i'm just sick of the bullshite.
2) Also, if they are mask nazi's then likely tours, dining, etc... is limited and i'm not wasting a vacation on a place that doesn't want to do business.

havent been to asheville recently but was in brevard last month and you didnt have to worry too much about masks. NC is weird right now. some cities/towns have mandates, some dont. even the ones that do though, just depends on who feels like dealing with it and enforcing it.

all that being said, asheville could be mask city. cause asheville

I was there in the summer. It was pretty lax as far as enforcing it upon anyone. A lot of the "asheville, cause asheville" were still wearing them, though, of course.

Honest question. I do NOT know. How liberal is Asheville NC? If it’s liberal it may have one in place. If moderate it may have suggestions everywhere. If conservative it still may have signs for show but give zero fricks.

I am stuck in Florida due to Southwest airline nonsense. Signs are everywhere. Disney cares only indoors. And Lyft drivers. I’m cool with a cab driver though. But half of those don’t care.

Honestly. Live your life. Put a mask in your pocket. If a bar or restaurant asks you to put one on, look at them with scorn and put it on until you sit down. Then take it off.

If you walk into a vegan food establushment? They will ask. Organic bar with holistic crystals? Probably so. Lol

Left Asheville this morning. Yes the mask mandate is in effect and generally it was practiced at most places downtown. Even waiting in line at Burial it was practiced.

So we decided to book anyway. Staying for about a week.

Day 1 - Biltmore, then will try to hit zillicoah and dssolvr brewery, then dinner at the Edison room at Omni grove inn
Day 2 - exploring the blue ridge parkway and hitting up a few waterfalls. Plan to stop at Turgua farmhouse brewery on our way back to the hotel then hitting up the Red Stag Grill for dinner.
Day 3 - kayaking during the day, then some more breweries. Want to hit up archetype and wedge since it’s on the same side of town as the kayak outfitter. Dinner at Bouchon.
Day 4 - zip lining at navitat in the morning then breweries the rest of the day. Want to hit white labs, Eurisko, funkatorium, Hillman, Hi-wire, Bramari, brouwerij cursus keme…. Finishing the vacation off with dinner at burial forestry camp.

I was there end of August. Signage everywhere to wear masks indoors, even ordering a beer. Never once was told to put one on.

I wasn’t super impressed with Asheville. Waterfall hiking was fun times, but I didn’t enjoy the vibe of the actual city. Bunch of try hards. The food situation? Not good either. Everything was overhyped. 20$ for an insanely large biscuit and eggs was a rip off at Biscuit Head.

if you're planning to head south to the Pisgah ranger district/Brevard area check the roads in the national forest. last month there were still alot of closures due to the damage/clean up from Fred

Big fan of Curate. About as authentic a Spanish Tapas Restaurant you'll find in the States.
