Lol, dude get over yourself and your "specialists" in the outdoor sales business.

They have alot of shared housing which the NPS is only putting two people max in shared housing currently. No seasonals are allowed to be hired before late May. Seasonals have already been notified that many won't be hired and many are looking elsewhere. The gateway communities are concerned with visitors overloading their healthcare system. The NPS just got a black eye with the recent stories of employees quitting over concerns about getting sick and the news that 9 employees have tested positive. Think what you want, but it is not going to happen.

Again, you are talking 60 days away. We could easily have a massive federal stimulus package for national parks. A lot of those people in the same areas that don't want people also live and die off of tourists. The hotels around Yellowstone are all around $250/ night for crappy Motel 6 type of lodging.

As quickly as this thing hit us in 2-3 weeks of media coverage, we could easily be back almost as fast.

This morning I cancelled our Viking river cruise set for early July and rescheduled it for July, 2021.

From United:

We know it's difficult to plan ahead right now, so we're offering you even more flexibility to change or cancel your future travel. Now you can change any flight scheduled between June 1 and December 31, 2020, to a date up to 12 months from your original ticket issue date, or cancel your ticket and retain the credit for future use up to 24 months after your original ticket issue date, both without a change fee. This fee waiver is available for a limited time, through April 30, 2020.

Thank you for choosing United.

A United Airlines passenger filed a class-action lawsuit against the embattled U.S. carrier in Chicago federal court this week over its apparent refusal to issue ticket refunds despite a wave of coronavirus-related flight cancellations.

I think the lawsuit may have caught their attention.

Should be flying to AMS today with the family...BA cancelled on us about 2 weeks ago. Guessing I’ll get CSR points back and a refund for what I spent cash on.

Still a bummer...

Contacted my Airbnb host today about New York. Mentioned if the stay at home order went through May I would not be comfort traveling 2ns week of June as I don't think everything will be open and back to normal. That I understood their fee and if we could work something out.

So if reports of JBE issuing stay at home through May and NY doing the same that is June trips out for me.

I said it in an earlier post but I think it will be early July. My guess is the second week so that there won’t be crazy 4th of July crowds.

We have a trip to Maui scheduled for June 13-22. I have until tomorrow to cancel my Airbnb for a full refund. Should I cancel now? I’m a heavy lean to yes. Though the owner has given me a few options I’m not sure I want to roll the dice.

Had to cancel British Airways R/T London. Here's what they said:

I’d cancel. If you end up going you’ll probably be able to get a nicer and less expensive Airbnb even if it’s last minute.

On American, if they changed your itinerary by 61 minutes or more you can get a full refund to original payment.

Destin in late July. Crossing my fingers. Worse case scenario we just go down the beach and order out.
