I would not call that being screwed. As a matter of fact I think Garth Brooks wrote a song about something similar to that. It was called Unanswered Prayers.

We have our once-in-a-lifetime vacation set for July. Danube River cruise and spend time in Budapest, Prague, Berlin, Munich and London. Viking has canceled cruises through the end of June, giving 125% vouchers. Our hotel and airline reservations can be canceled with no penalty. Never-the-less, we'd prefer to make the trip as scheduled.

You are incorrect. I would not feel comfortable booking anything in 2020.

We have a July disney trip. I think domestic trips will be ok this summer.

Disney?

I don’t know, but I think they will be closed for awhile.

Likely to be the last thing opened back up.

Yea I can’t imagine anywhere that is conducive to large crowds, like Disney, will be open anytime in the foreseeable future.

I am holding out hope for July, our June trip to Virginia for the Lockn festival seems to be a lost cause. I’ll have to cancel a cabin, flights and a rental car for that soon I guess.

otherwise our big trip for the year isn’t until October to big bend

Has anybody been the victim of advance non-refundable fees? Or had any luck getting them back?

No Hyatt. They’re offering 10k points but no refund. Feel like it’s NYC so they should offer some waiver like they did initially with Asia but whatever. Not getting my hopes up.

If the hotel won't refund nonrefundable, try your credit card and put how impossible it is for you to make that trip

We have a trip to DisneyWorld scheduled for June. I’m still treating it like it will happen. I made my dining reservations months ago and have been updating them ever since. I have my FastPass preferences penciled in and will schedule those when the 60 day window opens.

A large group of family “volunteered” me to make the plans so I have to plan and hope for the best. I heard that Disney was going to have to furlough some workers in mid-April. One of the two top Disney execs took a 50% salary cut for the year and the other is working for free.

you think you are going....
best of luck yo you.

I would not count too much on Foreign trips to Latin America,,, the virus has not fully hit and they do not have the resources to get over it quickly.

whatever you do... make it refundable or that it can be postponed.

I'm supposed to go to Borneo in late July. We're going to wait until early June at least before making a decision. Half of us are over 60 and it's a month long trip. Risking getting Covid in Borneo is probably not a great idea, but I'm leaning towards going if at all possible. A couple of group members are taking a big financial hit now and that may be a factor as well. Overall I'm not optimistic.
