i got fricked on this today. Had a flight leaving the Bahamas tomorrow going back to Houston. connecting flight cancelled so they tried to book me the following day. not going to work for me based on work schedule, finding another hotel room for the night, new covid test etc.

had to book with delta to get out of here tomorrow. going to hit the wallet hard with that new flight compared to the refund AA will give.

done think I will be able to get them to cover any of the new flight difference.

Not surprised you have to get there with Delta, but glad you found flights. DFW got hit hard yesterday and today, AA has been a mess there especially with already over-scheduled flights.

You are correct, the refund from AA will be pennies in comparison but at least you'll get home

There are worse places to be stuck for an extra day or so.

Flying American to LA from NOLA for LSU game... hope this won't end up happening to us... It was by far the cheapest option.

Not surprising at all. We had a group come from all over into NOLA this weekend and I think 5 out of 6 groups had severe delays or their flights were straight up canceled yesterday. We are on the way to MSY right now flying…you guessed it. American.

My flight down here was absolute hell too. I’m never flying American again.

RECAP FROM SATURDAY:

We were flying from Boston to NOLA via Charlotte. While we were in line at TSA, we got a notification that our flight from Charlotte to NOLA was cancelled. Not delayed, just straight up cancelled. They tried to tell us we would get on a flight at 10:50pm (it was 5am at the time) getting us into NOLA for midnight. That did us absolutely no good as we were going in for an event that night.

They tell us there is nothing they can do, but after some time they finally get us on a new flight. So we left Boston 4 hours later and flew to LGA. We then had to take an Uber from LGA to JFK to catch a JetBlue flight to NOLA, getting us there 7 hours later than initially planned. And the people at American didn’t seem to give a flying frick (no pun intended). Horrible customer service.

frick American.

I have an AA flight next March to MTJ. Anyone have any idea if these are temporary issues or something they will be battling for years?

AA has been crap for years. I’ve never been on an American flight that took off on time. If price is close, I will fly United or delta

I travel a lot. I've had maybe 10-15 trips with AA in the last two years. I don't think one has gone off without a hitch. Not one.

They are lying two faced sacks of s***. The service on Delta is ten times better.

I don’t get why so many people are traveling right now with all these delays and 2-3 hour security lines

Some work stuff I get, and guessing some pleasure travel was planned long ago before these issues were really anticipated. But I've heard enough horror stories over the past few months to not plan any air travel for a while.

The flight delays/cancellations have been an absolute nightmare and borderline illegal. But I haven’t spent more than 15 minutes in line at TSA.

This better get fixed quickly. My SIL is here with a 5 yo & 2yo while their house in California is being remediated for mold.

They have been here for 3 weeks and leave in 2 weeks. I am at my wit's end.

I have a two year old so I'm effectively grounded due to masks, but it's caused havoc on people coming to visit here that's for sure.

Can echo TSA--that part has been easy and we've been lucky with cancellations/delays thus far.

However, Mrs. Crickets is taking our niece on a graduation trip (no pics of either) and just called me to let me know their flight was cancelled because of "no crew".

Standby for WWIII live from DFW; Mrs. Crickets is NOT happy. Lord have mercy on those AA employees.

How are they noticing the day of the flight that they won’t have a crew? Shouldn’t they know that days before flights happen?
