Travel is opening up.
Germany is still requiring masks on trains and most museums and churches. Netherlands has no mask mandates. No one checks for vaccination status in either country.

At least where we are in Germany there are no mask requirements in any of the stores, churches or restaurants unlike what we experienced in December which was very restrictive. No one is asking for the QR Codes or Vax card. Frankly no one around here is wearing mask right now. Nada in the museums we visited today. Sometimes signs recommending them but never required. Personal choice.

Direct entry requirements flying into Germany

We came through Norway FYI. As noted in the trip report we didn’t have to produce any documentation of vaccination. The ship did require it though. Since then in Germany we’ve seen no requirements to produce any documentation of vaccination. In December it was very restrictive and you had to produce your QR code. Strict mask mandates. Much more relaxed now.

You can add Ireland and Iceland to that list.

Funny about Costa Rica, we looked at going for a quick winter getaway because they never had restrictions and then when we were booking they implemented a vaccine requirement and then like two months later killed it…just enough to ruin our trip. Oh well, Punta Cana was nice.

I was in Germany in Nov and it SUCKED. Was highly highly restrictive.

Still had a good time but the Covid nonsense was out of control.

It’s eased up now. Only public transportation requires masks. At large train stations Hamburg or Dresden) you might see a fraction running around with a mask and in trains all are masked up.
