re: 3 day stay in Seattle, must do’s?

I enjoyed the Chihuly glass exhibit.
It was amazing.

I also rode up the space needle.

Did the underground Seattle tour.

I really only had 2 half days.

My daughter enjoyed their music museum. The experience.

LSUintheNW lives in Aberdeen. It wouldn't surprise me if it rains every 4th down there.

I've been looking up some hikes and I think I'd prefer one with mountains/lake for scenery. I'd say difficulty not extreme.

Looks like Rainy Lake, Snow Lake, and Mount Pilchuck fit the bill. Twin Falls looks cool too. Sounds like Mount Si might be too hard for those coming along with me.

Any preference?

Now imagine you have a baby attached to your back, does that change your mind?

Seems like Rainy Lake is wheelchair and therefore stroller accessible. Will a stroller be useable on any of the others? I don't plan on having one but options are nice to have.

Seattle has had quite the run lately but it's also the longest run in their recorded history.

In my lifetime in the NW the 4th of July weekend (not just the day but surrounding days) has, for the most part, not been a summer holiday that you could count on great or even good weather. It's why as I got older I started heading east over the mountains. West side is just really warming up and shaking off the rain while the east is in the high 70's to low 80's with zero rain.

I still do that as I'll be in Idaho for this year's 4th of July.

Everything you mentioned besides Mt. Si all look nice for your group.

Mt. Si is 4 miles one way with 3150' of elevation gain which isn't for everyone. Going down 3150' in 4 miles can be tough on the knees for a lot of folks too.

I've done 3 of those 4. Twin Falls is the easiest and still has pretty nice views, Pilchuck is probably the most impressive but the elevation gain can be tough. Also, at the top you're looking at a small scramble up some boulders to get into the lookout. Might be difficult with a baby.

I’ll be heading that way on my way down to Astoria. Hopefully the coast drive is scenic, please advise if I should take another route.
