Thanks for the info. I'll consider it. But I still have all those switchbacks burned in my brain as a kid. I much prefer the convenience of i70

Switchbacks going to WP? If you have PTSD from those driving up to Eldora will be a real treat.

Driving to WP is not bad at all. The road is well paved, two lanes going uphill, and frequently plowed.

It’s not ptsd. More of, “goddamn this drive is taking forever going 25 mph up this mountain.” But again, I was 12, so maybe it’s not that bad. We were in a shuttle bus. I’ve never driven it. Eldora didn’t look bad on the map, but I’ll take your word for it.

Anyone have an opinion or experience with Boa boots? They are very appealing to me but I can’t help to worry about shearing off that dial. I’d assume that’s not really a concern since every manufacturer offers it.

Can’t speak to them but I’ve been eyeing them. Just bought new boots 2 seasons ago but boa on a ski boot has my attention.

Been using boa on my mountainbike shoes for a few years with no issues, i wont buy shoes without em. My next snowboard boots will have boa enclosure.

I have Burton boa snowboard boots. They've been great. However, I only put 5 days on them a year for 3 years. So can’t really speak to longevity. But I like how it easy it is to loose/tighten them.

I've had them fail on road and mountain bike shoes. Not the Boa dial or wires. But where the dial and system is sewed into the leather of the shoe. Boa will replace dials and wires no questions asked. But when I tried to warranty one pair of cycling shoes, Boa blamed Shimano and Shimano blamed Boa. Luckily Backcountry (where I bought one pair) made the issue right, but this was a 200 dollar pair of cycling shoes. Would think twice about a 600 dollar plus pair of ski boots. Of course, I say this but my snowshoes have Boa enclosures...

Luckily, ski boots aren't going to have a lot of leather for the connections to be a big concern.

I am waiting to see how people like these first generations though.

Baby needs to eat a little early. Warming up the bottle and look outside, can you guess what I see on the ground?

Its white, its cold, and for some reason my heel keeps trying to click in at the sight of it!

American just pushed my flight out of Bozeman back until 3:00 or so. My question is for those of you that have been to Bridger Bowl, would it be worth trying to get a half day in there before my flight?

Bridger is always worth it, cheap lift tickets and fun terrian.

Thanks, I was leaning towards it for the lift ticket price alone.

I'd like to see that jet get extended (classic El Nino) once we get into later October. We have one little storm system next week, will bring snow to the high terrain. Until we get the jet to extend toward Cali, it's gonna spin lows off the left exit region (Gulf of Alaska remains stormy) and we get ridging downstream over the west coast.

It'll change, but I lack patience.

How often does everyone work their legs out in preparation for ski season? Just started leg day today in anticipation of skiing in 2+ months. Last year started a month before and those first few days were brutal

I turn the intensity up two months before, but there's no skipping leg day during the year.

Also, you don't hate to see this...

Started biking more about 2 months ago. Will start lifting more this week.

It was a cool 34 this morning in Denver when I took the pups out. Brrrr

What exercises do y'all do to specifically target muscles used during skiing? I do squats, lunges, box jumps, etc... 2-3 times a week anyhow.

Lunges to me simulate having to stop and turn the most while on skis. I usually do those, squats, and calf raises plus an assortment of cardio, core, and leg raises. I only have dumbbells and a bench but it works out well enough

Seeing the snow and my new skis are in, I'm chomping at the bit to get out there. Sold my Enforcers for something a bit lighter and more playful....
