It's just perfectly positioned with a WSW wind to have a bunch of moisture converge on it and lift. Aspen isn't as well positioned with a WSW. Straight W or WNW does Aspen better IIRC.

Helluva day at PC. It got pretty nasty for a while. Going to Okympic Park tomorrow and back home on Tuesday.

Steamboat was great the last 5 days, especially yesterday after 14 inches of new snow. More snow coming in next 5 days. Crowded Christmas Day but crowd spreads out on both sides of mountain. Champagne donuts at the end of the day are a must!

I'm in CB now. It's definitely getting pounded with powder. The 30+ mph winds and low vis conditions were kind of a bitch today though. I really only enjoyed 1 run under Teocalli but that lift is so freaking slow

Just got off the slopes in Crested Butte. Visibility was damn near zero. Yesterday was amazing, light flurries in the morning and blue skies the rest of the day. Today was fun!!

The cam at CB showed Paradise lift closed. Wind must have be a MFer because that lift is fairly protected.

Winter Park was sweet today. Got a pole position parking spot, was dumping for the first hour, no lift lines, and hit two rope drops. I was toast by 11:30a and back on my sofa for 1p.

The wind was brutal in Taos. I only saw one lift open and that was for half a day.

Hearing they could get another 3-4 feet at CB, up to 85 inches total for this massive storm cycle.

PC is getting pummeled with snow right now. Too bad I'm leaving tomorrow.

Just booked 16 days in Tahoe for Jan 31 - Feb 16.
Heavenly, Kirkwood, and maybe Northstar.

Anyone got any tips for getting my buddies' Hyundai car and RWD truck out of our steep driveway in CB? My buddy barely got the car into the driveway and now it got pretty much 100% buried by the snowplow

You might need a tow truck. Bringing a RWD car to the mountains during a snow storm is an absolute no-go, I’m surprised yall even made it to CB.

Well, im sure you can get it out of the driveway at least. Now having it go the direction you want is going to be a different story.

Seeing all the people stranded in south lake tahoe this week from the snowstorm and I see another storm on the way for next week. Palisades is closed from an avalanche, let's hope everything can get under control by the time I'm there next Thursday night. Video below from one of the groomers on the mountain, those winds

Are they planning to drive these back across Monarch? They might need a shipping company.

You think we'll be okay in South Lake Tahoe? Looks like they opened up HWY 50 today. Hoping the storm next week is not as bad.

Are you flying in/out of Reno to Sacramento? I switched to do Reno as we don't have to drive over the pass. I also have a huge SUV rental to make sure I can get around. We should be good though, storm looks to stop on wed night or Thursday morning
