Ive been watching the snow cam at Copper today. Shows about 4”. It’s been snowing all day even though it was supposed to stop at noon. I’ll be up there Friday. Hopefully the snow on Friday overdelivers a bit too.

Mary Jane opens tomorrow so that changes my plans for Saturday.

What are you expecting next week for Christmas in Park City?

Timing differences remain but that's a good signal for at least one more storm through Park City before Chirstmas.

That's the look we have on the ensembles, a -PNA. Good for snowfall in the west.

The climate prediction center also has Utah targeted for above average precip through Dec 29th.

Looking for a new set of goggles and I can't find anything negative on these Shady Rays. LOVE the magnetic lens option and have the same on my cycling helmet and for the price, this seems like my pick.

Plenty more out there for more money but I'm not sure I see the need. Any thoughts?

12% VLT and a 56% VLT for under $100 after discounts

I’ve never heard of Shady Rays. Those seem like a good deal, I guess it’s just the risk of you buying from a lesser known brand that doesn’t have an established quality reputation like Smith or Oakley.

Interchangeable lenses for under $100, that’s certainly worth a look.

I like my Oakleys. Even with the darkest lenses, they have great clarity in all but the flattest light. But I don’t find them exceptional and can’t do without them.

I bought a couple of pairs of shady rays sunglasses due to the price. The coating has come off of the lenses in a couple of places on each pair, and I’m not rough on my glasses. They do have a great replacement policy, but it’s still a hassle to have to deal with it. No experience with the goggles though.

Let’s talk preventing/combatting altitude sickness. I know to drink plenty of water and limit alcohol as much as possible. I’ve also read that complex carbs and high iron diets are good. What does everyone do? Any Rx takers? This will be my first time in Colorado. I’ve only been to Whistler and PC which are much lower in altitude.

Skiing I’ve only been to 10k-11k and not had any issues. Only prevention I did was drink plenty of water. I have hiked some 14ers and I took acetazolamide and had no issues.

This. They are cheap for a reason. The design and visual appeal are top notch which drew me in. I also continued to lose $150+ sunglasses year in and year out. So I switched to Shady Rays and after a few months the film started peeling off. They charge $8 and send you a brand new pair. Rinse and repeat, I suppose.

I wouldn't expect their ski goggles to be made with any sense of durability or quality. They'll probably look amazing and work great for a short period of time though...

I live at 9600', my advice is water water water. Then take some tylenol if you get a headache. Youre a fit guy, it wont be too bad.

The best thing you can do is live at altitude for as much time as possible before exerting yourself. Besides that, drink a lot of water and keep yourself in good shape at sea level.
