Anon M2.
I’ll run red sonar, light blue, or clear lenses depending on how I’m seeing the terrain.

I'm probably not going to be able to ski until the first week in April this year. I know spring skiing can be go either way. Is there anywhere you would recommend for this time of the year?
Somewhere high like Breck?
Somewhere north like Big Sky?

I don’t.
The latest I’ve ever ridden is Mardi Gras.
Edit:
Sorry, I’ve ridden Steamboat during spring break a couple seasons. It was t shirt weather. Snow was slushy.
It’s getting harder to remember all the places I’ve ridden in 22 seasons.

Alta-Snowbird and Arapahoe Basin would be at the top of my list.

Have any of you fellas ever skied Ski Cooper in leadville Colorado. Currently have a little couples vday weekend in the works to go there. Didnt look that impressive on the ski map but my buddy swears its a good place.

I've skied @ Ski Cooper. It is tiny. As in drive up and park, walk 20 feet over to the lift. If you guys are not experienced skiers and only looking for 1-2 days of learning, it should work. If you are good skiers and like to explore and ski all day... would not advise.
From google: it’s small, with just 400 acres of terrain and four lifts servicing 39 trails

Most major resorts should be fine into first couple weeks of April. A Basin and Loveland should have decent skiing into May

Most of you don't go this way because of flights/lack of nightlife etc but there's always the longest ski season in the US at your disposal.
Mt. Hood Timberline ski area.

Mt Bachelor is a damn fine place. Sort of remote.
Never been to Hood but I’ve heard about their glaciers.
Mammoth CA always has a pretty long season too. Mildly remote but worth the trip.

Thanks
We just skied for our first time in breck (peak 8&9) from xmas-ny. We were starting to get confident with blue runs by our last day of 4. We are definitely beginners but at the same time I don't wanna just ski on little weenie hills. Lol. Only 2 days to ski this time. If its lame though we may just try copper mtn instead. Lift tickets at ski cooper are super cheap. Like 60$ which is awesome after our last big trip.

They loosened up the restrictions some on short term rentals from 1 household to 2 per unit.

Can anyone recommend a good anti-fog solution for goggles? Most on amazon have a lot of negative reviews.

Mount Hood is definitely on the table. A good friend just moved to the Portland area.

Oakley Flight Deck with the darkest mirrored lenses (sapphire iridium possibly).
Pros: the larger frame fills the gap with the helmet perfectly. Even with the darkest lenses I rarely have issues with light/flat spots.
Cons: They make you like an a-hole, fly, bug, etc. The mirrored finish scratches easily; those small branches in the glades do a number on them.
From a tool-not-jewel standpoint, I really like them. Worth $200 or would I buy them again...prob not.

It's 90 min from Portland.
Plenty of rentals in the area within 15 min. Or check the lodge for a room.
Or just drive back and forth. Nightlife around the mountain is low. A couple of bars.
Several ski areas but you'll want Timberline or Meadows that time of year.
Eta....Depending on how much time you have you and your friend can go to Bachelor. Or you can fly into Redmond and get a rental and they can meet up. 3 hour drive from PDX to Bend.
You'll have a better chance of getting sunshine in that part of the state. Bachelor is 30 min from Bend. You'll find some very affordable air bnb's there.
Great beers and food and plenty of California blondes walking around.

Just a general PSA for the morning ride up from Denver. Westbound and Down in Idaho Springs has awesome food and good beer, but they sell burritos in the morning that are killer. When you start making the climb on 70, order through their website and it’ll be waiting out front.
