So i'm one of the stupid frickers with 50,000 personal tracks. My music collection beats the frick out of the so-called 'streaming' premium option and it was very well organized after I slaved over fixing errant album tricks not showing up correctly, uploading album art and carefully curating the genres.
genres are essentially the only way to manage 50,000 tracks if you give a shite about your music. i edited the metadata of albums and have everything where i want it to go (jazz, cocktail party, FAX, 4AD, lounge, etc.). we're talking 15,000+ albums.
i'm not going through this again because it didn't come over.
no ability to edit or even see album metadata after the move so i have no frickING IDEA if the genre or other custom shite i spent so much time on made it over.
in fact, jumping between 'youtube music' and 'uploads' is stupid and it always defaults back to 'youtube music' every time i switch from album to artist.
thanks thats fricking stupid too google.
oh and the cherry on top is no cast option to directly play this to my sonos speakers or even the google speaker if you bought one. Nice, google. WELL frickING DONE. only chromecasts and firesticks show up under the cast icon.
what a not-ready-for-release pile of shite this is. i swear to god if they turn off my google music and this shite isn't fixed i'm cancelling my subscription and moving as much shite off google as possible.
DONT frick WITH MY MUSIC
YOU SUCK GOOGLE

You have too much free time
You can do this through the Sonos app very easily

Never streamed plex in my car, at least intentionally, but I jam on it at work all the time. Plexamp is a little different interface but may work better for you

Me too. I'm pretty pissed about it. I mostly only listen to genres.

Plex works well for me. Have you tried their new music only app?

The Sonos app is crap. I avoid it whenever possible.

Of MP3 level quality? I think you are mixing up quantity with quality.

iTunes did this to my collection years ago and it never recovered.
I'm slowly reripping all the music to FLAC for Plex. I keep a local copy of the MP3s on my phone for on the go music.
It is what it is.

I like it, but it's also just included with YT Premium and I only ever use it with my Google Home/Mini's.

You've always been slow to adapt to changing technology.

You didn't back up your shite before moving it? Because no matter how bad Google sucks that's on you.

I went through similar bullshite back in the day with iTunes. I learned having a library full of music is more trouble than it’s worth. After toying with different services I found Spotify to work the best across all my system/devices from home, office, and car. Paying a few bucks for premium is a non issue. I’d spend more time and money on just keeping my library updated. I like to fish in my free time, not edit metadata.

Agree. Spotify is is a god send.

What part of editing and adding the metadata in Google music did you not get? This has nothing to do with my source files and everything to do with Google taking down something that worked for over a decade that I've invested countless hours refining.
