Nest? Honeywell? Ecobee? Something else?
Which one and why? Which Honeywell if that one? Preferably something I can control with Apple/Siri. TIA

nest - better since they fired tony
ecobee - the current darling because of the included remote sensor
honeywell - still God Emperor for the cheap bastard under $100 club.

Voice control? all of them.

ecobee has a cheaper model without the remote sensor, but it's still over $100. Plus I like the clean look of it over the Honeywell. The nice looking Honeywell is hot garbage, the cheaper one is the way to go.

Nest is pricey and I still hate those frickers.

Serving the Alum household faithfully and without problem for 2 years

I have it tied into our Amazon Echo

Call me cheap all you want but it serves our needs just fine

i've bought at least a baker's dozen of these for friends & family for under $70 and yet to hear a single complaint.

I have Emerson's Sensi and I love it. I've had it for well over a year now and it is really great. I got it cause it basically works with any type of wiring you may have to your HVAC so for someone who doesn't know what they are doing, it only took me like 15 minutes to install.

Also works with Alexa if you have that. But the cell phone app is super easy and great.

That's the one I'm rocking. Have it set on a 7 day schedule. Geofencing is the only thing it's really missing. Our schedules are pretty consistent so I just don't see why I'd need geofencing though

geofencing sucks.

every application of it. the slightest wifi hiccup or momentary loss of connection will trigger it so its notoriously unreliable to use for triggering lights or hvac. i have a a big house and i can literally walk to one end of it and it thinks i left the 'fence' and triggers the event again.

same thing happened at my old house so this isn't specific to my address.

same thing happens with various geofencing apps so its not due to a poor implementation.

iow you're not missing anything.

My life360 geofencing works pretty damn well. It does hiccup occasionally but I'd put the success rate north of 95%.

Yeah the alarm dot com geofencing works awesome. Like most tech things it just needs to be set up correctly.

I just bought this:

I love it.
I was looking for the cheapest wifi thermostat that would integrate into smartthings and google home natively that had a humidity sensor in it. This met the criteria.

I'm pretty much a woman when it comes to thermostat screens. I cannot go back to those 80s green screens.
