Yep. Had to reserve my modem. Went from 78meg down to 107meg down after the reset.

They are also increasing their prices accross the board.

Very odd timing.

Me too. Though I’d been getting more than the 75 I was supposed to get (93 or so) for a while now.

It's been about 3-4 years since my last free increase.

Was a nice one though, 100meg to 1gig. Plus, not on Comcast. I can stand a few more years of no increases with that fact.

Streaming a movie costs you the same amount of data regardless of how fast the connection is

I went from 50 to 150 with no price increase from Cox. I typically get 200 though.

I called Comcast customer service for an issue and agreed to do the post-call survey. I politely complained about a few things. A week or two later I got an email saying they had bumped my speed at no extra cost. Not sure if coincidence,

Another customer service person later tried to sell me the same upgrade. I told her about the letter, but she said she saw no record of it. I said, well, Speedtest as we speak says I have it, so no thanks to paying more.

You'll still hit 1tb faster with 100mb over 75mb though, so his point is technically correct

Everything consumed at out house is streaming. PSvue, Netflix, kodi, Terrarium etc.

We have four 1080p TV's and a single 4k tv and still are way beyond our needs with a 50meg line. 25megs is more than enough but iddly enough the 50meg package was cheaper when I signed up with Fidelity.

you both are right

With increased speeds you can now do more things at once which would lead to hitting your bogus data cap faster.

Yea with NN being taken away expect the PSVue to be trolled big time unless your ISP is cool and doesn't sell cable tv.

But yea 50 down is plenty for the avg household.

They're probably getting rid of the 75 meg tier and the option was either 50 or 100. They won't lower your speed without your approval or knowledge so they increased it as a "courtesy".
