With data caps why does Cox think I will upgrade to gigablast?

i no longer have cox, but pretty sure you can get unlimited/no cap for an extra amount..

i use to just pay it, rather than constantly monitor my data usage.

thankfully i have LUS now

It is absolute bullshite that we continue to allow ISPs to advertise speeds when they are really selling an amount of data transfer.

We should pass a law that says if you want to cap users at 1TB, you can only advertise (1TB * 8bits) / (30days * 24hrs * 60mins * 60secs) = 3megabit service. Not fricking gigabit service.

I have ATT Gb service and with that, unlimited data..the lower plans have caps I believe

Shockingly after I put in an eeros system I discovered I’m getting speeds higher than the base internet package from Cox advertises

I have Comcast and yes, I now reach my 'cap' every month. In fact, I normally go 250+ over mine which results in the maximum $50 (unlimited price). Wish att had fiber where I am or some other alternative high speed access.

Yea, the faster internet won’t cause you to reach the cap faster. But if you use the internet more often or download more stuff bc of the faster speeds then you obviously would hit the cap faster.

Don't have Cox anymore.

I blow past it on like the 10th day of the cycle. I just pay the unlimited fee and not worry anymore.

I can't get AT&T fiber where I live, so Cox has me by the short and curlies until another option becomes available.
