Has anyone installed any? Are they all created equal? Any features I should watch out for, pertaining to capacity or functionality with various devices?

I try to always stick with Square D or Leviton for anything power in the house.

Hubbell makes a good one as well. I have some in the house.
Don't buy cheap outlets off Amazon. Stick with a well known brand when it comes to electrical devices.

I installed one of these last year, no problems so far and works great. If you want fast charging, make sure it supports the Power Delivery/PD spec.

I’ve installed similar (got mine from Lowes). It charges iPhone quite quickly, but I find the touch screen gets really sensitive while plugged in.

Just basic USB-C might support 5V, 3A - 15W. The main benefit to USB-C, in my opinion, is the Power Delivery protocol (PD). The basic USB-C PD can provide up to 100W using a solution based on 20V using USB Type-C cables rated at 5A. Newer PD can reach 240W.

Yeah, I suppose my interest is from the increased wattage potential. Do you know of available receptacles capable of those wattages?

60W seems to be the most offered for receptacles at this time
Leviton
