Can anyone tell me what the options are for high-speed internet in BR? It looks like AT&T isn't available in my area. Is Cox the only other option?

Thanks. Apparently AT&T is available a lot of places in BR, just not on my street.

Comcast seems to be available

Gents -
About to begin scrolling through the thread, but wanted to get the question out there in case it hasn't been discussed. Does anyone have a set up for their TV when they want to watch outside? The only reason I have maintained ATT this long is due to the cable boxes being able to go outside. I have begun thinking of cutting the cord (bill has jumped to $175/month) and using one of the streaming type devices (roku/chromcast/apple tv etc) to watch outside, but have concerns about being able to get a strong internet signal outside in order to get picture. Anyone have a good set up?

I see a whole lot of Kodi and Vue in here, and not much else. Anybody else in here have a Plex setup besides me? I have Kodi on a Fire stick as a backup plan, but once I got my Plex server set up to track my shows and serve my movies, I haven't used Kodi once. The Plex interface just blows it away so hard that my (recently turned) 4 year old can navigate it and find exactly what he wants to watch.

Ran into that issue this weekend.
Article announcing ES File explorer being dropped
Other ways to sideload
I wound up loading Kodi via AGK Fire ($2 app on android store) and pushing Kodi to the fire TV Stick.

I am actually looking into this. I'm thinking of throwing 4 HDDs in my desktop and running a RAID 5 setup strictly for storing ripped blurays and viewing via plex.

Exactly. If you've gone through the trouble of putting a TV outside, you need to either have a wifi hot spot outside, or just have ethernet run to where your TV is. A wired connection is always the best option for speed.

hink it's a bug in the remote. I would contact them and they might even send you a remote for free.
I use my PS4 Universal remote to control my fire tv now.
I have this same issue, but I use the iphone/ipad app. Any time I go to use the firesticks, they aren't showing up as available unless I turn the wifi off on my phone or ipad then turn it back on.

Has anyone tried running kodi on just 15 mps? I'm the only person who'll be using the Internet but I'm afraid I'll still need to go with th 50 mps on cox. Will be using this thread later to set up kodi on my firestick

I haven't heard of a bug, but I have read and heard of the remotes eating batteries like candy. I know of a couple of people who sent them back and got new remotes for free. Looks like I'll need to send mine back soon as it's starting to act up.

I use it on 24mbps and have used it on 15 before. I think it'll have more to do with your firestick..I would go with the Fire TV, personally

Pulled the trigger on cutting the cord!
Bedroom, roku3/wifi
Living room, roku stick/wifi
LSU room, roku4/hard wired
Shed, roku3/hard wired
35mbps cable internet through RTC
Tablo 2 tuner OTA DVR w/ 2TB external hard drive
Currently have PSVue and Netflix. If we don't use PSV enough, I'm not ashamed to cancel mooch a few stations.
4 month equipment payoff without PSV from savings over directv. If we don't like it (cord cutting), we can get to 1/1/17 and have everything paid off from savings and go any route for tv service and I won't feel bad about the equipment investment.

Forgive my ignorance, but what, exactly, does KODI bring to the table?
I went to the website, but it's not clear to me how it adds to the Fire Stick or Roku.
What am I missing?

quote:Kodi itself isn't particularly interesting, its basic purpose is media viewing/management. It becomes really nice when you start installing add-ons to it, like Exodus. There are TONS of shady streaming websites out there, most of them in other countries, and if you look hard enough you can stream just about anything. Exodus puts a UI in front of this huge collection of sites to streamline the experience.
