I am building a man cave on the side of my house and wanting to do a tv wall of four 65 inch tv's. I plan on getting a HDMI Matrix so I could watch multiple games at one time or watch one game on all the screens. My question is what does the HDMI matrix device run off of if I stream YouTube TV and do not have a actual cable box?

Umm... The HDMI of your chosen streaming devices?

Just plug a streaming device into each tv and run different profiles for each tv to do different channels. No need for a matrix.

This is what I do, I've got 3, 2 32s above a 65, but I don't ever want to watch the same thing on all 3 which is where you'll run into out of sync issues if you don't have one source of truth. but you can't watch 3 different things without 3 different devices I don't think.

Yeah that defeats my purpose for what I am going for when there is one main game on I want all 4 screens displaying that game as one image the matrix allows that.

Then in that instance you have one streaming device supplying the matrix going to each tvs 2nd hdmi input. But then you really don’t need a matrix, just a splitter.

One of us is misunderstanding what the OP wants. I think he is going for this with one game.

As opposed to this

Yes just like that for only when one game is really on like on Monday nights for Monday night football or just put the LSU game on it when they are playing when people are over.

I’d do a projector with a multi PIP switcher/matrix. No lines on the big view, and as many PIPs as the device supports. Think security camera monitor type view where you can show one, two, three,….. matrix.

Without a true video wall, the full screen will look like shite with all the tv bezels breaking it up.

You see this at sports books and fancier sports bars. I wanted to do something similar this, but once I dug into it - I remember it not being economically feasible.

You need one of these, then you need the tvs. And a way to stream 4 devices at once.

I think it looks awful, but to each their own.

I'll help you out with the images... What Matrix device do you have picked out?

I have not picked any matrix out yet. Just trying to get ideas on to successfully get what I really want out of my space. I am wanting a large tv wall just like I showed in the pictures for me to be able to watch multiple sports games at one time or one main game at a time on the entire screen. Like the one guy mentioned above maybe doing a UHD laser projection might look and be the best option.

Gotcha, I’m interested in hearing what you decide to do if it’s not a projector. I’ve never seen a consumer projection setup that looked good without BIG $$$ spent on all the details (light, screen, projector). If you can figure it out I think the TV setup would be very cool.

Yeah I am conflicted which route to go right now either do four 65 inch OLED LG or Sony TV’s or do the laser projection.

What did you decide? I am considering the TV wall as well, I have done the projector route before and was not as impressed also the wall gives you separate games option as well.

Going to get plans drawn up tomorrow actually for the room. I think I am going to go the projector route though. Leaning on getting a Awol Ultra short throw projector 150 inch screen. I can hook up the lap top through the HDMI port to the projector and stream multiple games/screens at once.
