Tired of overpaying for TV and Internet

I'm paying Cox $340/month for TV, internet, and a landline which I don't even use. Any recommendations for TV and internet to save money? I could stay with Cox for internet for $75/month and switch to less costly TV service. A friend suggested YouTube TV for $65/month. Thanks for any advice.

Get an internet speed package around 100Mbps. Surely you can get something less than $75.
YouTube tv is solid but make sure it has all the channels you want.

Why do people still do this? Get solid internet and a couple streaming platforms and save a frick ton of money

Really want to save some $$$? Keep the internet, drop the phone and cable. Subscribe to a good IPTV. $18/month. Every channel you can think of.

We went YTTV. My friend prefers the interface on Fubo over YTTV.
Wifey (no pics) only watches about 5 channels and YTTV had all of them. Sold.
F cox. Saving about $220 a month and never looked back.

Hell even if you want to keep what you have just call Cox and threaten to cancel. Probably at least cut that bill in half

What the actual F. When I had TV and internet through Comcast I thought $220 with multiple receiver rentals was high.
$75 is too high just for Internet. T-Mobile and other providers will give you a $50 or less deal for at least a year, and after the discount period is over, they'll still be less than $75.

How many people in your house could determine how much speed you actually need.
When considering streaming services the big 3 to compare channels are YouTube TV, Hulu Live & Fubo.
Also, check with your cell phone subscriber, many of them have free services to binge shows (for example, I get Disney+/ESPN/Hulu basic through Verizon)

This! I pay a little less than that and have every channel known to man. Netflix, Hulu, HBO, Paramount etc is included as well. All of the PPVs such as UFC, boxing, are included.

So, you're breaking the law, and subject to being shut down without warning, and potentially prosecuted similar to this.

Casey Lentz, a 21-year-old former San Francisco State student, is among those caught in the RIAA's PR campaign.
"They're harassing me nonstop," says Lentz, who's been trying to settle her RIAA case, but can't afford a lawyer. "I wasn't the one who downloaded the music. It was a shared computer with my roommates and my friends. They want $7,500 for 10 songs."
"I told them I only had $500 in my bank account. And they said 'no way,'" she says.
But yeah, sounds like a great plan. Until it isn't.

IPTV, whether they admit it or not, are 99% illegal. Go with decent Internet and YouTubeTV. If you don't care about sports outside of football season, consider Philo. Its $25/m because they do not provide sports or news. Only really an option if you have an antenna for local. YTTV carries sports and local, so pick your best match.
Pick up streaming services only for specific shows for which you have an interest, then drop them immediately after. Landline is useless unless you want it for security with a kid around.
Haven't had a landline or cable since 2010. Haven't done any of the not-so-legit streams since 2012 or so.

$80 a month on internet and we have netflix, Hulu, Prime (included with my amazon prime, HBO max free with my ATT phone service.
Philo tv for 25.00 a month for my Goldrush on Discovery channel and Paramont TV for my wife and her Yellowstone.
So staying under a $60 month on TV here. When Football starts back up I will turn back on my Youtube TV but for now I don't watch sports.

I'm not worried, they have bigger fish to fry. VPN's are your friend.

Which costs about $50. Quelle horreur. And yes, there is DVR for OTA (over the air) with Plex.
I use HDHomerun.

YouTubeTV dropped MLB Network if that matters to you. It did to me so I’m in limbo at the moment.

Mix up the streaming... No contract is awesome. Binge watch and catch up on one program, then pause service and and move to another.
Current Communications/streaming
Visible 35$ x2
Paramount+ 99/yr
Spectrum cable 55mbs 40$
ATT 5g firstnet 100mbs 29$

I know it's a scary thought at first, but there's really no reason whatsoever to need cable other than for live sports.
You can install an antenna to catch locals.
If you have Verizon, you can get a package that includes Disney+, hulu and Espn+.
i'm sure you already subcribe to netflix and amazon prime like most people.
You'll come to realize after you make the switch that all cable tv is is background noise of reruns and commercials.
The biggest issue is if you're a sports fan, especially LSU. You kind of need ESPN, and there's no ESPN package.
If all you're going to use it for is sports, then SlingTV is the cheapest i think, although i haven't used any streaming service in years as i just use my dads login for ESPN and FoxSports since he's probably as old as you and still refuses to drop cable like an idiot. $40/month for ESPN, but no Fox or NFL network. $55/month for both ESPN and Foxsports/NFL network.
