Glad to see the 2020 TCL 6 series is actually better than the H9G in some motion tests. Especially towards the end of the review.
Wish I had 3k to get Sony or LG OLED.

Then I saw this..

TCL QD-OLED

$10k? No way that could be right? Right?

and of course compared to non HDR...

Those are 2 different images, so a weird comparison.

That's the one thing about the Samsung's i don't like... no Dolby Vision

I am ready to order this tv and I see it only has a 1 year warranty. Is the 3 year geek squad warranty worth it? Should I just bite the bullet and buy the Samsung Q80T at costco and get a lot of warranty?

Also, after more research it doesn't show that the Q80T has dolby vision.

No Samsungs have Dolby Vision. They have their own version. It's not a deal breaker for me because I don't watch a lot of content that would use it, though admittedly it's likely to move from 4k blurays to more streaming services that I do watch. That said, the Samsung verison HDR10+ is considered a worthy fallback.

So, I should just buy the TCL? What about the geek squad warranty, worth it?

Hmm. I looked and it said it was no longer available. I will check again.

ETA: I see it. The H9G doesn't have disney+ which may be a deal breaker for my kids.

I'd probably choose the hisense over the TCL and just log into disney+ or however you get to it through a connected TV. I assume it's not impossible.

The disney+ is kinda big deal with my setup if I need a roku box. I was looking again today at costco. I am almost that the point of buying an LG nano or something just to get warranty. I have a LG 50um73 and the pic seems more than adequate. I may not need all that extra stuff.

Non OLED panels from LG are IPS panels, which produce poor contrast ratios and worse overall picture quality compared to VA panels (which is what most other brands are, at least for their mid to high range tvs).

yeah but I think the best buy version may lack the RF component on the remote which I love especially if you have a soundbar blocking the ir port.

Everyone but best buy

At least the 2019 version was a special edition for BB that lacked the voice control and RF.

Not sure about 2020 model

super stoked for you. if you have any screen issues, tell them right away and maybe you'll get a 2 for 1 like the other poster in this thread.

Came back to bump this thread on my experience..

Ordered my unit on Sept 10th, date on the order said will ready to pick up on Sept 23rd.. hear nothing from Best Buy today so I call them. Get someone to tell me the 26th it should be in.. then says "wait, stand by" and comes back and tells me that it's back ordered and they have no expected time frame for delivery. New orders say October 10th but they can't even guarantee that.

The guy even tells me it was back ordered when I ordered it, and it was never going to be here on the 23rd.. when my Best Buy order screen still says it would be ready and never changed from that date.

I mean it happens, I'm more upset no notification was sent of a delay or back order and then the guy tells me it was that way from the beginning and I'm basically making my date up.

Any recommendations on a 65in around the $1000 price point? I've seen the Hisense thrown around but I'm just weary on that buy. I don't know anyone personally with experience with them.
