Hmm. I looked and it said it was no longer available. I will check again.

ETA: I see it. The H9G doesn't have disney+ which may be a deal breaker for my kids.

I don't know what that is or how it works. I am the most technologically challenged person you can imagine.

Its a streaming platform box you connect to your TV. You can download pretty much any streaming app onto the roku and just login to disney+, netflix, etc. thru that. The basic 4k roku is like 40 bucks

Way easier to use and better performance than using the apps thru your tv

Pretty much, but better and easier imo. You access your apps thru the Roku instead of streaming to the chromecast from an ipad or whatever. Its like a 2nd cable box but for streaming services

Agree, H9G seems to be the superior TV, but TCL offers Roku and has better speakers.

My TCL is being delivered tomorrow.

As noted above, you can get a roku for 40 bucks and add it to any TV, unless you REALLY want to navigate it through the TV itself. But i would defer to the best TV/picture overall knowing i could add whatever device i want or need

its not the same thing at all. a roku-TV is almost a different product altogether than the stick devices.

in fact i think roku only supports dolby vision when it is built into the TV itself for some reason. thats a deal breaker if you just bought a state-of-the-art panel and want the best picture possible through roku. you'll have to buy something different.

Hisense is the better rated TV, and has a better rated picture. Unless you're just talking about access to Dolby Vision. Though i honestly don't know how much DV content is even out there and who serves it.

Vudu has almost everything in DV and Atmos that offer it.

What kind of content? Live sports? Popular shows? Original programming? Major movies? All of the above?

Pretty sure just movies on Vudu. Netflix has some shows and movies in Dolby Vision. If you’re wanting to watch a movie in Dolby Vision you could just use the tv app instead of the roku

You missed the point I was responding to the poster who said you come buy a roku stick and get identical features to tcl but that's not true because the stick doesn't do dolby vision so you'll need to use a different device or the tv app which makes buying a roku pointless.

I've owned wdtv devices, Chromecasts, fire tvs and used built in tv apps.

My tcl roku tv blows away all that crap. Simple, elegant, functional. Aside from the Xbox I doubt I'll ever need to connect another input.
