How are people setting these up? I don't have any seating close enough to a TV for those cords.

Are they not 9ft?

Just get a long HDMI cable. 12ft are like 10 bucks.

I had read they were 2ft longer than the NES, which were apparently 5...so 7ft.

My husband was able to score 2 at Target. So now he has 3. One to keep, one to gift, and one to resell.

That article was a true gem.

Edit: FWIW, if you wanted to build a RPi 3 variant you would actually be paying more in terms of start up costs.

However, the gains are in the much more expansive libraries you can obtain.

Again, most people in the market don't know how to do any of this shite nor know linux line command.

Anyone tried any of the offbrand copies? I was thinking about picking one up on Amazon for $60 that has 600 NES games on it.

Get a raspberry pi ~$30, a 32GB Micro SD ~$10, and a 8bitdo Bluetooth controller.

Install Retropie on the SD card and enjoy entire libraries of every system up to the PSX and N64. N64/PSX games are hit and miss on which one works well without overclocking. Retropie is drag and drop rom files into the right system folders, it's super easy to setup.

Yeah, I know it isn't hard. I have a firestick and kodi. I'm just looking for something to get for my kids to play games on that I can also have a little fun with. I want them to open a present, not this:

I've been wondering the same thing. I see all these Chinese knock off on the web and was curious too.

If getting the NES version of the case, I still highly recommend the SNES shaped 8bitdo controllers. The rounded sides are so much nicer on the hands than the NES controller squared sides.
