Nexx.
Don't even waste time with that myq garbage.
Look up nexx on Amazon.
I have 2 generic zwave controllers but I put the work into scripting then to do what I want so I wouldn't recommend it to someone wanting something quick and easy.

I have MyQ and can confirm this.
It doesn't work with Alexa, you have to pay a monthly fee for it to work with Google, and you have to pay $80 for an add on to get it to work with Siri.
The MyQ app sucks. It has issues connecting, I have to keep trying over and over again to get it to connect. I have to close it out and re-launch it hoping it will connect. My wifi reaches past my garage, I know it's not wifi.

Dammit. I bought MyQ on Prime Day. Haven’t had a chance to install it yet. Sounds like maybe I should leave it in the box and trade up to Nexx.

Maybe it is because MyQ came built into my garage door opener but mine works perfectly fine.

as long as you stay in the tiny sandbox myq gave you.
heaven forbid you want to do more than use your phone as a glorified remote control.

I just got this one a few weeks ago and think it works great. I made sure to go with one that worked with Smart Life app cause I already had that app for some smart outlets. It was easy to install, able to set schedule to make sure garage door is closed at 8pm. Got it on Amazon for $25 and was easier than getting a general garage door opener.

The MyQ on mine works great too, it is built into the opener though. And I only use my phone to open/close the door and check to see if it’s opened or closed.

myQ made the specific decision to integrate through 'garage code pairing' unlike everything else which just splices into the garage 'doorbell' wires to energize the circuit meaning virtually every garage door opener since caveman days will work.
myq wont work with many third party systems (I just got 2 new garage doors & marantec openers) so it was a non-starter for me. myq can choose at any time who they will and won't work with.
i dont use my phone for any of the smart stuff in my house unless i'm editing a script. everything is voice control or trigger activated.
you will outgrow the phone-as-an-opener eventually. you'll be snug in bed and realize the garage door is open and your phone is in your office and realize how nice it would be to use your voice to shut it without getting out of bed.

I keep the phone next to my bed on the charger at night so I haven’t run into it not being close. I could see the voice activation stuff being useful and cool but haven’t gotten into that yet. I don’t even have an Alexa or anything.

Who doesn't sleep next to their phone?
MyQ works great for me, even with the small "sandbox" provided. I get notifications for opening and if open for a long period. I also don't have any issues with disconnecting once it was setup.
I did have a bad controller, but they replaced it at no cost.

Anybody have any experience with meross?

I just installed a new chamberlain garage door opener with myQ built in. I like the myQ so far, but not working with Alexa as standard feature is bullshite . MyQ even advertises the Amazon Key feature but they don’t offer Alexa integration without a monthly fee

Other than that I really like it

they first pulled this shite with IFTTT integration a few years ago so i knew where things were headed

Just installed the Nexx last night. It was easy and fast. Paid off today when my oldest son (the main reason for having to have it) left the garage door open yet again when he left for school after everyone else.
I have mine setup with my google assistant and can open and close and the pin is a hassle but I guess it keeps someone from hacking your assistant by yelling into your house to open the door.
The only thing I can't get it to tell me is if the door is open or closed. It acts like it doesn't understand that command but it shows that I should be able to inquire about the door position. Can y'all ask if the door is open?

MyQ for the price is pretty decent.
Main thing is for us to be able to make sure the door is closed when off to work. Plus we set the schedule to auto close when at night.
I mean for 16 bucks or whatever it was on Prime Day, hard to complain

Update:
I went with this one. It has all of the features I was looking for and thought it would be great for the price. Installation took 30 minutes or so.
thanks for all the recs

i dunno. seems dumb to me to buy into a closed system with a history of charging subscription fees to access the device through other integrations considering the myq device costs as much if not more than the free options with no limitations and no worries that your off-brand garage door system won't be compatible. why would you go myq if you don't have a system now? lol there's literally zero reason to.
its also pretty short sighted to assume you'd never want to use your voice to open/close your garage doors.
i have 200+ smart devices in my home of which ZERO require using my phone as a remote control.
