Anyone ever have this problem?

It's taking forever just to load this site or any videos right now but when I do the speed test, I'm getting 100 down and 30 up

It was 11 when I did the test earlier, just did another and ping was 47 with 8 down and 9 up.

Not sure what the deal is

A traceroute to the slow sites may tell you where the bottleneck is. That's "tracert" in Windows.

Could be your browser or your PC.

Have you tried any other browsers?

It's across multiple devices and browsers. Phones, PCs, roku stick, etc.

Across multiple devices does suggest looking at your router first. Have you tried powering it down and restarting it? Updating its firmware?

Are you using a VPN?

I blame Norton, etc.

No VPN. Router has been reset. Still intermittent.
Will try updating firmware.

Run a continuous ping to Yahoo! and see if you drop any packets.

Also, some of these sites test jitter and packet loss. Try and find one that does it is usually part pf the advanced speed tests and called line quality or something like that.

Turn off the wifi on your Phone (what make and model do you have) and that will fix your problem, if that doesn't work, call cable company and have them send a refresh signal to your modem.

Sounds like an issue with the websites in question or your internet route to said sites.

Change your dns servers from your ISP's to Google's.

DNS resolution being slow would definitely cause this sort of issue. Good call.

Always remember this haiku..
It's not DNS
It cannot be DNS
It was DNS

Do you have Cox? Lots of folks have been having shitty consistency from Cox even though speed tests show great speeds.

It's the in laws house and they have suddenlink. Apparently a lot of people in their subdivision have had the same problems (newly developed area).

I guess while I was gone today they had issues again but when I got home I tried streaming video from 4 different devices at the same time and they all worked flawlessly.

Edit: Did another test while everyone was having trouble again (3 iPhones and a PC). Ping of 13, 0.80 download and 0.23 upload.

If using Chrome, try the tips in this LINK

I did. Pages seem to just pop in so fast now.

Is it all sites or just certain ones? Depending on the site, I've noticed Chrome can be very slow loading when there is a ton of javascript.
