re: Samsung S8 & S8+

The phone actually looks nice from the front, but that finger scanner placement on the rear is terrible. From reviews I've seen, the plus model is nearly impossible to use from a one handed reach. Also, being right beside the camera, I can't see how the camera lens wouldn't constantly be loaded with fingerprints.

Unless it's unnecessary with the new retina scanner. But then why have it?

Yeah the iris and face scanner make using the fingerprint scanner irrelevant. I was reading that many of these companies don't see the fingerprint scanner sticking around long and iris/facial scanning is the long term secure solution.

From what the hands on reviews have said the iris/face scanner works flawlessly and is instant so they probably just included it because every phone has one right now and didn't want the bad press for leaving it off.

So you're saying Apple DIDN'T realize that people wanted a smaller phone, so they just made the 6se on accident?

It is pretty ignorant to assume what you want is what the other 7 billion people of the world do to. Half of the people I know don't like huge phones because they put them in their pockets and do not walk around with it in their hand pretending to be important

Bottom line is....there is a large market for normal sized phones. Apple realized it and stuffed the 6 hardware into a 5 case. In fact, my younger sister bought one last weekend because she can't fit the regular 6 in her pockets or purses

that dude is extremely irrational. Whatever phone has the best specs he will gargle it's balls and talk crap about everything else. Not too long ago he was the captain of the Nexus train and shitting on Samsung phones.

Samsung used to carry "mini" versions of their flagship, but they didn't sell very well. Is there a market for them? Yes. But it isn't lucrative or profitable enough. If it was, they'd still be around and all manufacturers would have versions of them (HTC 10 mini, LG G6 mini, Galaxy S8 mini, etc).

The SE isn't Apple's response to the demand of smaller phones. It is a response to the midrange phone market that Android has dominated so far.
