Still, I think Apple realized that not everyone wanted to be carrying around basically a tablet all day when they came out with the 6se. I wish Samsung would do the same

Not really, that's why Apple also has a huge phone in the Plus versions. They sell very well too. Lot of people want big phones and big screens, myself included.

How's is it not really? Some people do want smaller screens, he's right. Just like you want bigger screens.

You go too fan boy sometimes.

I want to make several replies...

quote:

I don't know why anyone wants edge to edge. Now there's seriously no where to grab the phone without touching something on the screen.

This is really not the case with my S7 Edge. You can still pretty easily grab the side and not impact touching anything. There is actually a bezel on the curved surface, but when you look straight on you don't see it.

quote:

The gloss makes it look cheaply made

I think you're just bitching to bitch.

quote:

Samsung still putting unnecessary apps which will ultimately compromise performance. Same song and dance.

Becoming apparent you have an axe to grind.

Step 1: Buy Package Disabler Pro
Step 2: Never give a shite about samsung apps.

Optional objective: Use Google Opinion Rewards to pay for said app.

quote:

Nah, not really. Samsung can be a bit trickier with Knox but it was still really easy on my Tab.

You may be in for a very rude surprise, depending on carrier. Samsungs are becoming harder and harder to root. I've given up on my Verizon S7 Edge (but on the flip side, root access is becoming less vital IMO)

quote:

S8 is intriguing but I can't handle the software and lack of long term support.

Don't understand what you mean. Bloatware? Package Disabler Pro. Launcher? I'm running Nova.

As far as support, I have Nougat and on my S7 Edge and have been getting monthly updates for the past year

You mean people want different things? Breaking news there. Bigger phones are more popular and the trend, but yeah you're right some people want small ones no shite.

You really fanboy too hard sometimes.

I'm going international version since I buy outright, unlocked bootloader for easy root and XDA develops pretty much only for the international version.

Not gonna lie, I love my Samsung S7 Edge. No reason for me to upgrade BUT I can see why someone on an S3 might want to splurge now.

UI still looks like it was made by a kid doing his first app design

Just continue to be baffled that Samsung will make gorgeous hardware and then totally frick it up with a skinning of Android that looks like a launcher/icon set that would be rated 2.2/5 on the Google Play store

I know this is an improvement on TW, but sheesh

The Pixel phones do not have physical home buttons. Google is the one who started getting rid of physical buttons why would they add that to their first "Google phone?"

The only way I'd get another Samsung is if I could root it. Any word if att will lock it down?

So use Nova like most people? Or whatever launcher one prefers. Most do.

You seem a little slow on the uptake that people want different things since you said not really to him for saying he wanted a smaller screen and Apple answered that call.

You are better than this... Hell you even went and posted it in the PC thread, you fanboying hard right now.

We talk about phones all the time in there, often times in depth from OnePlus to Nexus to Pixel.

I'm sorry you're so upset by it, I would suggest staying out of both threads if you don't like the tech being discussed.

Throwing around fanboy in a thread for a specific new tech product is pretty dumb too. So in your case I would also suggest staying away from the Samsung reddit and S8 XDA forums, lot of fanboys there too. Weird.

Didn't upset me, lol at you even suggesting that. I am use to tech being discussed. I like discussing the positives and negatives. You know you are creaming hard for this right now. You definitely just keep brushing any negative talk off hard, that's where fanboy comes in.

It's about objectivity, you know you lack it right now. It's a nice phone and you appear to desperately want it. We all fight these battles.

I have an axe to grind yet it has probably been the biggest criticism of Samsung phones for years.

Not really, some stuff is too stupid to not address. Big difference.

I still don't think you know what the definition of fanboy is.

You don't like all glass phones? Only thing that annoys me with them is the fingerprints but I still prefer glass backs and the look of them over aluminum or the awful plastic days.

The iPhone is apparently going back to a glass back this gen as well.

That's fine, I always run your opinions under a microscope to see if there is any substance to them.

The gloss black ones from this past gen look like hot garbage quickly.

iPhone hasn't had a glass back since the 4S though.

I would say the same but I generally don't remember you enough to know your posts other than the one AMD processor post a week or two ago.

I didn't say glass back. I said gloss black. Learn to read. Talking about glossy phones, they have one currently.

Same, PC is the only place I remember you from as well.
