New TV

I’m in the market for a new TV, it’s been years since I’ve bought one and after a quick search I realize I know very little about the new tv tech and brands. I’m looking for a 75” (or I’m seeing some in 77”) tv, the room it’s going in has 4 large windows that are pretty close to it, I mainly watch sports on it and I’m looking to spend ~$2k. Any recommendations that I should look at or brands I should stay away from?

Not trying to sell you on a series 5 TCL, but I'd make that series the minimum brightness to consider for a room with lots of windows. I took a series 4 back and swapped out and the difference was pretty impressive. rtings is the best place for head to head comparisons: LINK

I have bought nothing but TCL’s in the past 5 years or so and have no complaints. Have them in living room, kids rooms, master bed, outdoor, and kitchen. Can’t beat the quality for the price imo

77 inch S90C can be had for $1999 from Samsung with AAA discount.
It’s plenty bright enough even for rooms with a good bit of windows. It’s a steal of a TV for that price. Chat with customer service at checkout and they will normally throw in two years Samsung Care+ for free.

Sony X90L should be the first one you research. And if you decide to get one, Costco should be the first choice to buy from. They have a nicer remote with their version.

Lg b3 OLED 77" is about $1800 right now and would be a no brainer unless you wanted to spend a few hundred more for a slightly higher end OLED.
Based on your budget and needs, I wouldn't settle for anything but OLED.
ETA - didn't see the comment about the 4 windows. Could be problematic depending on angle, time of day, amount of brightness, etc.

Solid warranty as well.

Don't get Samsung. My Q70 has issues with back light flickering.

I appreciate all of the responses. I went by Best Buy yesterday and they did warn me the LG b3 is not as bright as the c series tv's. I'd never heard of TCL before but the 75" 75Q75OG at the store did catch my eye. Also I see someone linked the sony X90L. The TCL and that Sony are only about $100 apart, is there any reason to chose one brand over the other or are they both reliable and have good operating systems?

The TCL is a good budget TV but it struggles with motion processing and the dolby vision detail is not as good as the Sony. I'm guessing the TCL you saw was miniLED which would be a bit better with blooming control and probably a tad bit brighter but X90L gets the full "recommended" award from Vincent Teoh on HDTVtest (super critical youtube TV tester/reviewer).

Only reason to go TCL over Sony is to save money. The Sony will be superior. $100 difference is a no brainier.

Where are you seeing this price?
That model is $2499 at Best Buy: LG C3 77"
The B3 is $1800: LG 77'' Class B3

LG C series TVs are great. I have the C1 65" and love it.

I'm also looking.
Someone tell me why I shouldn't buy the VIZIO 65" Class V-Series 4K UHD LED Smart TV V655-J09 for under $400.
It'll be a main room tv, streaming, Xbox.
