my company is now requiring us to use 'duo mobile' for 2-stage device verification

have to remove 'root' from my phone and this nonsense verification stuff is a colossal PITA and barely works.
3 days later i'm still unable to get into the desktop version of outlook and have to settle for the web-based UX which doesn't have all my rules to sort email which means my inbox is massively full of deployment logs and reports that normally get sorted into separate folders.

if your company ever goes down this path RUN AWAY

You work for a good company that actually gives a shite about information security.

Do they pay for your phone?

well i dont HAVE to but it would be really inconvenient to not have Teams and Webex and Outlook on my phone.
my company provides me with a laptop but for a phone i'm on my own.

The company I work for using DUO for 2FA when connecting to the VPN, but that's all. I've used it on a rooted phone with no problems.

Same here. VPN access only so far.
We have this BS app now on our computers for email classification that is a PITA. It's a European requirement for e-mails to be classified and even though I work in the US, we deal with European clients and therefore we have to abide by European laws. . .

We have O365 with 2FA and at first I hated it but it's not that bad. It's only annoying when I use the web portal for email and junk, because I have to re-authenticate each time I log in.

you dont get the 'remember this device for 30 days' option?

I am considering 2FA for my company but with physical tokens. Yubikeys or something similar.

Did they enable app passwords?

Turns out it only works with Outlook 2016 or whatever the latest version is.
I'm running Outlook 2010 because I have several rules running that have to be able to call a .bat file.
Microsoft removed that for security reasons in the new version.
So I'm screwed. I will have to rebuild all those processes a different way and I don't really have time to do that right now.

We went through the same mess this past spring. It only affects remote desk tops on my end. I had to have a security code that I created to access my phone - which is annoying as hell
