Are all IPTV providers hard to navigate? My friend has one and while it looks great it seems like I would spend every waking moment explaining how to find something to watch to my wife.

You can invest the time up front to set up a customized channel guide, but they are usually messy out of the box.

I felt overwhelmed the first day but I just clicked "add to favorites" on the stuff I watch regularly to trim down the list of crap. I'm loving it now that I'm used to it.

I use Nvidia Shield Pro and Fire sticks in the bedrooms.

TiviMate is a good pairing with IPTV for guide and channel surfing. However, if you're wife isn't completely onboard with IPTV, ie. Dealing with incomplete guide info, inaccurate guide info, having to switch to another stream if yours is constantly buffering, having to redo your favorites when you IPTV urls change, etc., she's gonna hate it. I love it, but you gotta be willing to tolerate a certain level of headache.

The one I use is specifically built for tivimate. They tell you up front to use it but offer alternatives. Built my custom guide 2yrs ago and it hasn’t changed since, other than me adding new channels on occasion.

You are correct but to channels as favorites you have to purchase the premium service. It’s only 7.99 for a year but it definitely makes a difference

Yep, it gives you a guide just like cable tv. But not all IPTV providers support Tivimate so you have to ask before buying.

Yeah, they are all usually very messy. I run my two providers through EPGBoss on a PC which gives me a universal guide and then I send that playlist to TiviMate.

The program allows me to move channels around and delete huge swaths of them that I don't want.

It takes some work but well worth it IMO.

The IPTV service I am looking at is not compatible with tivimate. How can I find a good service that's compatible? There isn't much info I can find easily.

People who find really good IPTVs tend to keep it hush hush. I've been using mine for years and would legit cry if it got shut down

I wonder how it's not compatible? Any service should be, it just might not use the easy plugin format that I'm blanking on. If they give you a m3u url, it's compatible.

Like the other guy said, sources are kind of hard to find. My two are pretty tight.

My understanding is they preload everything on a firestick. The channels are broken into categories in the display.

The IPTV provider will not give you the URL for the service which you need to input into Tivimate.

Its been a few years since I have subsribed to an IPTV. I had tried 3-4 at one point. Every one of them gave my tvs a motion blur visual that made sports unwatchable. This happened on both TVs that I tried and with all motion effects turned off. This was 2019-ish.

There were quite a few posts online at thar time with people bitching about this too. I never stayed more than a month with any of the IPTV services because I couldnt figure out how to fix it.

I would love to go back, but the pain in the arse of dealing with them and the fact that I wasnt happy the first go around has me staying away. At some point I'll try again, I am sure.

Ah..well that would be a hard pass then.

And I wouldn't use a service that forced you to use their preloaded fire stick either. That's just crazy.

No, you just use their app. A lot of times it is a 3rd party viewer such as Tivimate or Smarters that they have tweaked with their URL inbedded so you can't change the URL or even see it so you could use your own Tivimate.
