Got a text that it'll be delivered between 10-1pm today 
But I won’t be home till about 7

Just not sure how to feel about this phone yet. I have a 6 and it's still kicking pretty good, but this one hasn't wow'd me yet. I want to want it, but will likely find a cheaper 7 or go with the 8.

Am I the only one that wants the iPhone 8plus? I like bigger and with the X being the 1st gen model, kinda meh about it.

Well the iPhone X has a larger screen than the 8 plus, but I can’t fault you for going with the 8 plus.

sure seems like it. the 8 and 8+ are by far the worst decision Apple has made. nobody is buying them. dont know why youd want a 8+ when the X's screen size is the same.

It is a larger phone but some of the reviews of the X already are showing apps downsizing the screens. This will eventually get corrected, I'm sure but you also have to factor in that I enjoy the physical button. It just works.
I dunno, I'm sure my opinion might change if I physically toyed with the X.
ETA: Anyone on this thread have the new iPhone X (probably more getting em over the next week or 2) and want to detail some positives/negatives/quirks?

Just picked up mine at Lakeside mall. Took about 15 minutes. There are two lines. If you pre-order, make sure you're in the right line. I believe you can pick it up before your slot, just may take longer. There were only about 5 people in the pre-order line and about 200 in the other line.

All of the reviews of FaceID have been fantastic that I’ve watched on YouTube. That was my biggest concern. People wearing hats/glasses, unlocking from angles far from directly ahead, etc. I was also concerned about it unlocking from the phone being slightly angled at your face, but it will not unlock until the moment you stare directly at it. Crazy how precise they have managed to make this software.

Yea, I may eventually upgrade to the X (maybe the 8+) but I don't think I'm in a mad rush. Probably upgrade in a month or so once the craziness has died down.
ETA: What about mobile banking apps that used the fingerprint to sign in? Any of those optimized for FaceID? Also, what about video streaming apps to watch TV on your phone? Is Netflix/Hulu/Amazon, etc optimized to take full advantage of the new screen size/layout?

That's what some people thought, but iPhone sales beat market expectations for the quarter reported yesterday, and Tim Cook said, "In the last week and a half of September, we began shipping iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus to customers in more than 50 countries. I can't find it now, but I believe I heard that Cook told CNBC that the 8+ was the best-selling plus model ever.
What's different this year is they have an even wider range of iPhones at different price points.

It's $200 cheaper than the X, and it's a tried and true design. I know I'm not the kind to buy the X the first year it's out.

Yeah me too. Don't have huge hands and using the + with one hand sometimes sucks.
honestly, this is the main reason why I want the X. will miss home button though. and finger id.

The + size is perfect, but throw a case on it, and it’s just too big. No way I’d risk owning one without a case. As such, I’ve been using a 6/7 for the past few years.
Will hopefully be getting an X after the initial rush dries down.
