What the hell is going on? This thing took a fall off the deep end recently. I have to charge back up at lunch time to even make it to going home.
ETA : have only used for music on the way to work and notifications about emails, etc.

Iphone 6 here and the battery drains so much I need to keep a charger close by for every 2-3 hours. I called them and had them run diagnostics, nothing wrong they say. But, I can go ahead and pay for a new battery and see if that helps. frick Apple and their battery.

Did you try plugging into the charger??

Is there a way to look up apps and their individual power consumption on iphone?

Something is definitely wrong. I took my 6+ off the charger around 5:40 this morning and I'm at 83%.

They updated the OS so that it does t slow down your phone to conserve battery. This is what your real battery life looks like. Fwiw my samsung 8 goes all day with reg use and lower screen britness.

May just be a bad version of the OS, I’m on beta 11.3 and it gets great battery life.

I'm having same exact problem with my 7+, it's only 5 or 6 months old

If the phone is new, first thought is that you should check what apps are running/draining battery and see how it performs with GPS turned off.
Aside from that, second thought is the battery is already shot. To that end, what are your charging habits? ... like, do you charge before going to bed and unplug 8 hours later in the morning?
I don't know if manufacturers make phones to shut off the charging when the batteries get full... I remember something about such limits cutting off charging at some point in the wake of the Note 7 fiasco, but don't know how widespread or effective the practice is.
... but, from my experience, when I give my phone a light charge in the morning (like an hour of charging), and another in the afternoon or evening, the battery performs better. I have a Note 3. Replaced the original battery about 18 months ago. Battery has been running fine using the light charge in the morning and another bump in the evening. A couple weeks ago, schedule got thrown off where I charged it overnight a couple times. In the two weeks since, the battery seems to be shot: takes forever to charge and drains far quicker. While this is anecdotal and not scientific, it definitely coincides with leaving it plugged in too long. And it's consistent with standard advice of not over-charging batteries for various devices.
Again, not sure if... or to what extent... phone manufacturers have implemented ways to limit this damage, but worth considering.

They haven't yet. Only the 11.3 beta has the throttling kill switch, and its default setting is to throttle.

Congrats? Again, my 6+ is now at 77%. That's with everything on (location services, bluetooth, connected to Apple Watch, etc.)and screen brightness ~60%.

Yes, I keep posting it. Go to Settings-> Battery and see what’s up. The Google and YouTube apps have been known to kill my battery life due to unexplained background activity.

You tube is doing some fishy shite. It shows 11% battery usage for today and I only had it open for about 30 seconds because I clicked on a link. It’s been closed ever since.

Location services and auto settings killed me a while back.
Many apps are working in the background even when not opened. Then check for things like Icloud or push settings that you can turn off if you don't use them.
Iphone7 - charged it to 77% at 5 this morning and am at 62% since then. Have used it quite a bit

I second this. Email push settings paired with a low cell signal in my office building kills my battery pretty quickly. Changed the settings to only fetch when I open the app and never had a problem since.

Not an Iphone here, but my V10 has been horrible for the past few days. I was just thinking about that before i opened this thread. And this is a brand new battery.
