Anyone else having this issue? I’m using iPhone XR and several times a day when I go to text there’s a slight lag. I’ll type a whole sentence out and a few seconds later it appears.

Not here. I’d shut it down and leave it off for a minute.
Power back on.
Go from there ...

I'm convinced Apple program glitches like this into phones 2+ years old right when they release new models.

Yes, I’m having this problem. Doesn’t seem as bad since I did the update but I notice it more after this update than other before. I also notice that my iPhone and Siri don’t work as well in my car using Bluetooth. I used to be able to tell Siri to call people and now it works like 10% of the time. So annoying.

After I posted this I searched Google and saw a big thread on the Apple site about it. Seems to be a known issue- so at least we’re not the only ones. Hopefully they roll out another update soon. And I agree with the post above you.. it’s a ploy to make me preorder the 12

I noticed it yesterday. I rebooted my phone and so far the issue has not come back.

There is something up with the way it handles background processes now. I've had the issue a couple of times now where you could literally watch the battery drain a percentage every couple of minutes. Mostly when I used an app with audio like 1045 ESPN. Even when you close the app, it continues to drain the battery. Go into your settings and see what is using a large percentage of the battery.

Yes I have this problem.
Also sometimes pics within text don’t show up as a thumbnail, they just show a file name and you have to touch it to see the picture.

I’ve had it a couple of times when first opening one of messages and typing the first message I’m going to send.

Looks like 14.2 Beta has.

I updated to 14.1 Wednesday night and haven't had the issue since. Now I'm having issues sending images to people without iMessage. It keeps telling me MMS needs to be enabled. Always something...
