Cox. Had it for 13 months, no issues until 1 week ago when internet basically goes out for 10-30 min at a time. Usually if I reboot the modem/router (panoramic from Cox) it starts working again only to cut out after 10 minutes. This issue has been getting worse each day. Obviously modem/router, wiring and anything involving my house has not changed at all.

Cox of course unable to determine what the issue is so they will send out a technician to rule out issues within my home. Of course they offered me to update my modem and internet service for a small price hike which "may solve the problem"

Is this a common story for Cox customers?

Yep. At least it has been for us recently.

We have a tech coming out since our boxes haven't been able to connect to some channels after contractors have been doing drainage and utility work near us. Also been losing internet intermittently (while the modem lights that signify connection are still on - power, US/DS, and online are lit but not internet).

Hopefully they can fix it. If it keeps being a problem, AT&T Fiber might be in our future; I wonder if their customer service is better?

I have had similar issues in the past, but haven't in some time. The 2 major fixes:

I disconnected the supply line at the house. Then went back inside and disconnected the modem. I waited a few minutes, and reconnected everything. After doing so, I asked Cox to send a reset signal to the modem. Basically a way to send any updates, that the customer service rep swears is done automatically.

2nd time, our system kept getting interference when it rained. Found out squirrels chewed up the wire allowing water to pool at the connection. Cox came out and ran a new line from the utility pole to the house.

baby monitors well screw up your wifi.

sometimes the shite outside needs to get replaced, and there's nothing you can do to make that happen. I had issues for a while with Cox internet cutting out like that. THey replaced the lines going from my box outside to inside my house. didn't help. I saw them out replacing stuff in my yard cable box and a few of the cable boxes out in our neighborhood. Haven't had an issue since then and it's been about a year now.

I can't speak for their customer service, but their outages are a lot more frequent.
