Debating on cutting the cord. After viewing everything, Hulu Live looks to fits us the best.
Those that have/had it, what are the pros and cons? Did you enjoy it?

It’s been solid. No complaints for a live TV service. Besides the price creep they’ve all had the last few years.

Provided it has the channels you’re looking for, what else are you interested in? The interface is okay, seems pretty standard. Has the standard streaming TV delay.

It’s got all the channels we want.

How well is the DVR process with it?

You like the shows and it records them, so it's kinda shite if you want to just record a single thing, or if you want to record a football game and get extra incase it moves to overtime.

Most everything else is on-demand, i rarely record anything. I think they finally let you skip commercials on your recordings now.

I've basically tried them all

YTTV is superior in my opinion.

Hulu Live won't allow you to stream from two different locations using their app installed on a non-mobile device, correct?

I liked YouTubetv until they raised the price. Now I do Sling with $11 add on for SEC Network. Cheaper than Hulu.

Correct. You can only use the “Live TV” option from your “Home” location. It does work on mobile devices and linked logins like ESPN.

It also allows multiple streams at the same time.

I never could understand how paying $80 month for cable with a different name is "cutting the cord"

Sling is $55 for full service, I know. Still defeats original purpose.

Isn’t just about price. For me it was simple.

Can watch on as many screens as you want with no extra box fee cable companies charge

No cancellation fee. I can cut service and restart anytime I want.

No contracts.

Cable companies were gouging
$80/month cable package
$5/box
$10/unlimited HD and DVR
$50 set up fee

The list goes on and on and on and when it’s all said and done that $80/month is now $150

I've never signed a contract with a termination fee for cable. Do you mean dish?

My former cable package, before i cut cord, has an ios app and works on smart tvs with unlimited streams.

I always paid around $105-125 for high speed internet, cable, and phone with a box.

When I had hulu live, ps vue, etc, there was a limit on streams. Not unlimited. typically 3-5?

Cable, locally has Bally Sports, and most online streams do not unless you really bump up package. So my basic cable included, Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Cavaliers, Columbus Blue Jackets. Streaming included none of that.

The cut the cord movement started before streaming services. Originally it was Bunny Ears and Netflix. That is what I understand cord cutting to mean.

At the time this started my options were Cox, ATT, and satellite tv. All 3 had contracts.

Thats when streaming services came in with $40/month prices etc and when all this started.

Now I pay $65/month for YTTV and $50/month T Mobile internet. Idk the simplicity to me is worth it alone.

Gotcha. My pet peeve, is my friends tell me not to text too fast about watching football when a play happens on bunny ears, because they are not actually watching it live. It's a 20-30 second delay on a lot of those streaming companies. It's hard to contain a celebration text!

We did this years ago, cut our bill for TV in half (went from Cox to Hulu+Live).

The biggest change for us was getting used to browsing channels by channel name rather than channel number (the GUI is much more user friendly now than it was then).

The slow, steady cost-creep is annoying, but it's still better than Cox.

The only real issue we've had was with the Roku device we use (because of something with the specific model of Samsung TV we have, the Hulu app for it won't do _+Live). Roku devices are shite for heat dispersion (or, were at the time) so everything except for their top item (Roku Ultra) would eventually overheat even though there was plenty of circulating air around it.
