How to have texts not show up on iPad

When I get a text on my phone it also appears on my iPad. My kids use my iPad at home and I can’t have them seeing my texts due client privacy issues. How do I disconnect the two. I turned the handoff feature off, but that didn’t stop it. Thanks.

I think you have to go into the settings on the iPad, under iMessage, and turn that off.

On your phone, under messages there is a setting called text message forwarding. Just disable that. You may also want to check the same setting under phone if you are worried about calls.

Client privacy issues. Yeah, that’s the ticket.
Lol, I seriously didn’t realize I wasn’t on the OT when posting that. Sorry.

Do you think you’re kids are looking at your work texts or do you not want your kids and wife to see your nudie pics all day?
I think you just go to settings and messages. I turned mine off to avoid my wife thinking I’m a degenerate.

Privacy issues and some of them like to drop F bombs in texts.
ETA: none of that worked.

Is it iMessages or green texts?
If iMessages, go into settings->messages->Send & Receive, then deselect all on the iPad.
If green, go to settings-> phone -> WiFi calling and turn it off.

I think that may have done it.

Create a different login for the iPad. Enable family sharing. That’s what I finally had to do could not get the damn thing to stop syncing to my phone with texts, calls, etc.

Beyond texts, and all… like I didn’t want new apps installed that I download on my phone to appear.

In settings under App Store there is a setting to disable automatic Downloads
