Yeah samsung pay is superior, but i don't own anything samsung so im stuck with just android pay.

Ah, gotcha. I haven't even tried Samsung Pay yet. Just got it set up on my S8 that I picked up a week or so ago.

I wonder if you have a bad screen. I haven't noticed anything I don't like about the display. I would consider trying to send it back. The screen on mine is great, I consider it a healthy upgrade in the screen picture than my Pixel xl from last year.

I'm a pretty big fan of the screen too. It might not be on Samsung's level but its looks pretty good to me. I do notice the blue tint when it's laying on the desk but it's really not that big of a deal to me.
Phone is pretty awesome overall imo.

This. I barely notice the blue tint and probably never would have if it hadn't been pointed out to me by all the reviews. So when I look for it, I see it, but it's not an issue at the angles I view my phone. And it isn't as noticable on non-white backgrounds. I think the screen itself actually looks great. Some of these landscape wallpapers on here are gorgeous. And if it's the saturation/color issues you're worried about, just wait for the software update.
Camera is of course phenomenal. Battery life has been great so far (only had it for 2 days). Very crisp and smooth. Love being able to watch videos at a normal volume level instead of turning it loud and cupping my hand to redirect the sound towards me.
All in all it's been great.

The blue tint is minimal on mine. I only notice it on white backgrounds and I have to be looking for it. The colors on mine look really good, display is very bright as well. I am assuming they could be more vivid, but I would have never noticed without the negative reviews. They say every screen is different I would try returning it and getting another one.

gotcha, ya i went to a VW store and the XL 2 model display was much crisper than mine. i must have gotten a dud

i was expecting the colors to be bad on the display especially since all of the negative press about it. Actually I think the colors look really good. What surprised me was how bright the display is

co-worker just walked in with a pixel 2XL.
my VERY first thought is that the screen looked odd; while the glass is curved the screen seems to be smaller than my old nexus 6 and has a huge bezel around it on all sides.
that immediately took away from the phone to me.
i played with the little squeezy thing. camera pics were astounding..but the phone looked IMO like a generic "droid" phone you'd find being sold under the consumer cellular brand.
y'all know i usually love google hardware but seeing the phone in person (and in particular the XL) did very little for me.
i still believe the nexus 4 is the most beautiful piece of hardware google has ever put out.

After hearing about the issues with the 2 XL screen, I got the regular 2. It's a screen size drop for me, but I think I'm okay with it. It's very pocket-able, and I don't mind the bezels at all actually.
So far, it's great! Camera is fantastic, screen on the 2 is good. In theory I like the less saturated, more accurate colors, but part of me wants the punch of saturated colors too. I'm glad they'll be adding and option to make it more vivid in the future.
The thing is just blazing fast. No waiting for anything. And the squeeze for Google Assistant is surprisingly useful. Thought it would be a gimmick, but turns out to be kind of natural.

Got mine two days ago and am impressed after 6 years of iPhone
