I haven't used it a lot, but have had the paid version for a year or so. Over time I've mainly used it for some resume enhancements, responding to project requirements, etc.

Today I was using it for some market branding ideas and during the 'discussion' it came up with this as a suggestion to some review I was mentioning...

"Use community forums like BlackandGold.com (since you co-founded it) or other relevant forums where your industry peers gather."

An interesting thing is I'm not exactly sure where it picked that up... maybe a resume, but if I have it on a resume it's WAY down the list.

I haven't visited b&g.com in some years and don't think I have mentioned it other than a twitter post and linkedin post recently because it was a 25year anniversary of b&g at Saints games.

Just thought that suggestion was interesting. Seems GPT might have a memory of my past better than my wife. Yikes.

I had an interesting experience with an elf at ChatGPT a few months ago. I was to deliver the eulogy for my aunt and I thought I'd have GPT write a poem about her. I got started and gave the elf her name and date of death, then accidentally hit return. I had not given the elf any other information about my aunt. GPT then published a lengthy poem about her, going into tidbits about her birth, childhood, family, etc. I have no idea how GPT came up with all that information.

I use it a good bit as well, enough to justify paying for it. One thing I have realized though, at least in the areas I use it, it is wrong a lot. like a lot, a lot. But its typically still pretty helpful and definitely a cool tool.

I recently started a simple side business that I wasn't sure how I wanted to class it, sole proprietorship or an LLC. I had a conversation about it with ChatGPT and then asked it what I needed to do to set this up in Arkansas. It even wrote the articles of incorporation for me.

Then I had a fairly in-depth discussion with it about how to account it correctly for tax purposes. After that was discussed, I asked it to design a set of google sheets to help me keep track of the business.

Crazy stuff.

Have you considered asking it directly? It will tell you how it arrived at its conclusions.

Ask Chat GPT: What do you know about me that I may not know about myself based on our previous interactions?

The app can store memory that it may find important later. You could've types something a year ago or it parsed it from your resume, then added it to its memory.

If you go to Settings -> Persoanlization->Manage you can see all the things stored.

You can also clear it, then turn it off.

I used to be real resistant of chat gpt and similar services.

Until I started using it more and more. I save hours on menial tasks and organization using it. I especially like being able to take pictures of things and have it transcribe or describe it.

It's definitely learning my information and may use it against me at some point but as I use it, the information is getting better. I use it quite frequently with help on formulas and such with excel and it's so awesome.

To me, it's like a google search on steroids.

I really agree with you.

For someone who is reasonably intelligent and can form proper queries, it is an extremely powerful knowledgebase that I feel makes me more effective and efficient.

Bringing up an old topic as I’m just starting to use ChatGPT. What is the main difference between the free one and paying for it. I’ve been using the free one and it seems like it does everything I need.

What are some other things you all are doing with it? I have recently had it create me a VBA script in outlook that moves all unreplied emails to a created folder so I don’t forget to reply to them. Once I reply to them, it moves it out of that folder and back into the inbox.

I am using GPT Plus but noticing it getting bogged down a little. Thinking about making the jump to GPT Pro but $20 to $200/month is quite an increase. Is anyone using GPT Pro? Is it that much better than GPT Plus?

I use it daily. It is a great way to go from rough idea to more fleshed out copy, then you can edit as you need. It's also a great way to generate checklists, lists in general, and it's a better way to search for stuff.

I get cracked up when the owners of my company send things that are 100% obviously created using ChatGPT, and they don't disclose it. We all recognize the format and icons...

I also know my kids use it too much, and I have to stay on their arse about making sure they tweak it to their own voice, because it's painfully obvious when it isn't.

daily, multiple times per day. For work and personal.

It's been great to use.

It's helped me become pretty good with SQL with no prior knowledge and helping become a better developer without formal training.

Can you all offer some examples of how you use chatgpt in daily life with work? I am trying to figure out how to harness it.

Start by asking chatgpt questions whenever you would usually do a google search. A lot of times it will give a response and then prompt *you* to ask more questions relevant to the topic.

Don't know what you do for work, but it can help with pretty much any writing task, or it can summarize an uploaded document. It can also help with quoting and estimating, or it can analyze data. Just use it like you might a really smart person.
