Youtube rollout
One major change: Removed the physical SIM card. Must now use ESIM but that applies only to US phones.

I'll probably get one unless the reviews and prices make the 9 more attractive to me.

I kinda want a google phone to try it out. However, like any new phone, I'll be "bored" of it after a month.
Sticking with my iphone 14 pro max and apple watch ultra for a bit longer.

The Google 3xl was the Pinnacle of Google phones. I've had the 5, 7 and now 9 and I would still go back to the 3xl with the latest camera and OS. The battery was way better on the 3xl

Just preordered the 10 pro XL. I'm coming from an S22 ultra. I got the 256 GB because I'm only using 55% of my 256 gb ultra. I wonder if I should have gone 512?

I have 256 and I'm not even using 100.

We have Pixel 6s with 128GB. I have tons of apps and take pictures and videos often for like 4 years. Finally ran out of space a couple of months ago. I initiated a storage cleanup and Pixel suggested that I could gain over half of the 128GB with one click to delete all of my pictures and videos and it would make sure that all of them were backed up to Google Photos. I was getting ready to upgrade my phone, but just removing all of the pictures and videos from local storage revived my Pixel to having like 68GB free storage. I can still view all of my photos and videos just as quickly on my phone from Google Photos and it is just as seamless for me like I had never removed them from local storage. I do already pay Google I believe $19.99 a year for I believe 100GB over the free 15GB of cloud storage. So I probably have another 4 years of Google cloud storage at $19.99 a year before I need to either permanently delete some photos or videos or cough up another $20 per year for more cloud storage. My Pixel 6 can last a good bit longer.

I think phone tech is good enough now that you should only buy a new phone if you need one. Otherwise, stick with what you’ve got or buy a second hand phone on swappa.
Wait for something actually “new.”

The 6P was an awesome phone. But, wasn't there something that went wrong with it? I feel like i remember getting $100 back from google because of it.
ETA: I wish they'd bring back the rear fingerprint scanner.

the new pixels also include the forced battery neutering. After the stunts they pulled with the batteries on the 4a, 6a and now the 7a, I'm moving on. I love the pixel user experience but I'm not a power user and the experience doesn't matter as much as background behavior and battery management.

This is why I bought another $80 Motorola Stylus 5g 2024
I can go pretty much 2 full days before needing to charge

I could do that with my Pixel 4a and 7a but all Pixels get to a point the batteries start swelling and catching fire. Because of this, google has now made it that once a battery hits 200 cycles, it starts prematurely degrading battery capacity and performance and it makes the phones unusable for many. My pixel 4a was limited to 30% max charge after they issued the update. It is just stupid.

After 200 cycles the OS automatically starts cutting battery capacity regardless of the battery condition because they have had so many battery issues. After 200 cycles you have to get a new battery to restore full capability.

I'll be getting a Z fold whenever they add super fast charging, a bigger battery, and software that is optimized with better aspect ratios. Sticking with my 25 ultra til then

I reluctantly agree. We upped to 6s, but it definitely felt like a sidegrade (in most respects). I'll probably hold us at 6 as long as possible.

As annoyed as I am of the 10 and the neutering, witnessing my dad's 6 lifting and then smoking when he plugged it in. Had to repair it (cc repair)
I can live with tmo and their 2 year plans, so traded in for the pixel 10 for him and my mom.
