Firstick apps without a tv provider question

So, I recently dumped DirecTV and now some of the apps I have on my fire stick wont work without a TV provider.
I thought the whole point of having a fire stick was to not have to have a TV provider.
What are my options to use these apps now other than re-subscribing or getting a new service like Dish,DirecTV..etc.?

You didn't research that very well.
You can subscribe to something like HuluTV, Sling, YouTubeTV for a lot less than DirectTV.
You didn't think you would just be able to watch anything you wanted for free did you?

I mean there are plenty of addons for Kodi, which you can dl on firestick, that let you do just that as long as you're not looking for something super obscure.

Apparently not. I wasn't aware that a provider would be needed for some apps.

For awhile I used my internet log in as my provider..They caught on to me..It worked for about 6 months..Try to use someone else's log in..

Use a friend or relative’s Direct TV log on ID and password.

There are some free apps out there for tv stuff. Try Pluto TV. It's free and has movies, shows, and music.

I think Tubi is another one.

Lots of ISPs are clamping down on that and sending out warnings.
Sure you can buy a VPN service, but at that point you may as well just buy a cheap OTT cable provider so you don't have to hunt down annoying sources on Kodi that sometimes don't work. It's just too much of a hassle. Cheap legitimate sources like Philo or Vidgo for sports just make more sense than trying to save 30 bucks.

I can tell you a way to get them all thru a streaming app. It’s not free but it is cheaper than anything else out there.

Pluto and tubi are both free

How the hell do you activate PlutoTv?
I went to the url and created an account, but now all I can get to is the control center.

There’s an entire thread from years ago that’s updated rather regularly at the top of this board that can help you.
Just read through this
