Cox is out of the email business. Yahoo now handles the old @cox.net address. I was able to set up Outlook on my desktop to connect my cox account to Yahoo. So no issue there. But going on the Outlook app on my Galaxy 21 ultra, and setting up the server settings (and special password from the Yahoo account) just like my desktop, I can't make the connection. I know I can't be the only one fighting this. Been Goggling and trying different things all morning. Any suggestions?

Just found this out today. I'm going to switch to AT&T Fiber soon. The only reason I haven't is because everything is tied to my cox email address and that's going to be a pain to change. I already switched to YoutubeTV and just have internet with Cox now.

You have to generate a special password for each app. They are one time use. Worked for me yesterday.

This will give you the incentive you need. Tackle the cumbersome switch over to the yahoo managed cox.net site for now and then migrate to a new email account with Gmail or something else.
I have no faith in yahoo serving these old cox email addresses for the long haul.

With my cox emails now migrated to Yahoo, I have no reason to remain on Cox Internet and YouTubeTV looks just as good as Cox TV.

Sad because I have been solely with Cox since 1978-79 when they first started.

But they’re simply chasing me away with their pricing schemes.

Will pull the trigger on 1 gig ATT today.

Yahoo has been managing AT&T email literally for decades. My email is a Bellsouth.net address that I have had since the 90's. I left AT&T back in 2007. I don't think you'll have to worry about Yahoo eventually dropping the Cox addresses.

Forgive me if I’m a little dense. My email ends in cox.net and now goes through yahoo (I set this up already). If I cut off my cox account tomorrow would my email still work through yahoo with the cox.net extension? It sounds like it would still work but also too good to be true in my situation. I’ll be on fiber asap for serious cost savings and better reliability.

Pretty sure that's true, Cox would have to notify Yahoo that you had dropped your account. Whether or not they would be that vindictive, who knows.

Their FAQs about the switchover say that once you've been fully migrated to Yahoo, that even if you cancel your Cox account you get to keep your email address.

Migrated my emails. Today AT&T installs fiber. I’ll know soon enough if my emails still work.

ATT installed today and cancelled Cox Internet and TV.

Cox.net emails still coming in via Yahoo. Should be ok.

Cox gives a 60 day email grace period after cancellation.
