Building a Plex library

As the title says I need to build a Plex library. I just repurposed a computer to set it up as a media server. Does anyone have any good torrent sites that help prevent the nasty comcast letters? Also any suggestions on how to convert my DVDs and Blurays to digital with 5.1/7.1 audio?

Post your email and I’ll send you an IPtorrents invite. Just make sure to seed each torrent to a 1:1 ratio or for two weeks. If you don’t you’ll get a hit and run and after too many of those you’ll lose your account.

Welcome to the dark side.
I wouldn't even bother. I'd just download the already converted form. You could run them all through makemkv on your computer if you really wanted to. And if you have a blu-ray drive.

I imagine the draw to IPtorrents is that you dont need anything sophisticated, ie ipblocker or proxy or the like, to use it? As in you can just download and seed with them without worrying about the cable company calling?

I've never had an issue when using iptorrents.

So how does the seeding work with IPTorrents? I'm using uTorrent like they suggested and haven't removed any torrents but my ratio is very negative. Doesn't look like any of the torrents are uploading. I've only uploaded 22MB compared to the 6.5 GB (non freeleech). Are you all just letting them run until they upload to a 1:1 or 1:2 ratio or are you seeding them for the 2 weeks Seeding Time?

Don't worry. It will get there. However, the more popular the media the better to get your ratio up.

Hu, you should be fine if you get a bunch of kids movies to start. I just downloaded all the crap the kids wanted and was at a 10:1 ratio in no time.

First, stop downloading anything that isn't free leech. If you keep doing what you are doing, you will dig a hole too deep to get out of. To build ratio this is what I suggest:
Filter by free leach, then sort by the most leeches (the red arrow). Download the top 10 in the list (or more if you want, the more the better)
It will be a lot of movie packs, which is great because you want to build your library. Seed them 24/7 and build up a buffer, then start grabbing titles you want that aren't free leech.

You have to be careful with that...a lot of free leadh stuff is pack with black data to boost the upload of whoever made the torrent. IDK how they do it but I won't download a freeleach that is 8gbs when every other one in 3 gbs.
Trick is to download a popular free leach and leave it uploading.... mostly porn.

Thanks for the input. I actually configured auto downloads using the RSS feeds. uTorrent picked up one of the new files last night and the uploads from that have put me back in the green.
I'm still going to look thru freeleech to see if there is anything I want there that is popular.

I'm not cool with this. Seems like someone would have figured this out and reported it to IP admins.
In the goat oink and what.cd (rip
) anyone caught transcoding a 128kb music file into flac was busted and permabanned with the quickness. Surely the guys at IP can figure this out too and flag/remove them.
We need a good standard for video similar to flac and 320. .. One compressed and one uncompressed..and encourage better rips.
There were tons of tools to detect fakes on the music sites and proper tools to rip a proper 100% flac.
