My razer keyboard is a pile of shite and it always has been but thankfully its near the end of its life. A couple keys aren't working anymore and one of them is actually a letter key so its a bit more important. I don't really care about backlit keys or macro keys, I just want something durable that feels nice and isn't insanely loud. What brand would you buy if you were in this situation?

Keychron. Moved to it from a Logitech g613 and it's so much better

Keychron

No ergonomic keyboard no care.

Was having some wrist pain from typing all day. I switched to a Logi K860 and the pain was gone in a day.

I went with a Logitech g915 because I wanted a great wireless. Had to suffer with backlit. It has 3 switch options for whatever your preference is.

I was going to get the G915 TKL since I absolutely loved the G613 (my work keyboard is still the G613), but the GL switches dont come close to the Gateron. Plus the G915 is still annoyingly uses ancient micro USB.

Also they Keychron K2 TKL was $70 compared to $250

Logitech K520 here (been using it for about 8 years).

I'd like to try one of the new mechanical type for a couple weeks before spending the $$$. I do far more CLI work than I do mousing (somewhere around 90/10 split).

If you don't care about numpads, I'd highly recommend keychron or Anne pro for wireless.

Logitech G613 can be had on the cheaper end too and it has a numpad and wireless

I love my Ducky Channel. Bought it 6 years ago and have never felt the need to go buy a different keyboard. Mine is an older one from their "Shine" lineup.

I use the Logitech K740 Illuminated Keyboard. It is hard wired to my PC and operates much faster and more reliably than any cordless keyboard I've ever had. No lag time and has great feel -- I am a former journalist who can touch-type faster than 70 WPM.

Keyboards are a very personal item to me, as much a personal preference as a mouse. As for a mouse, I use a "matching" Logitech M-U0007 Performance Laser Mouse. It, too, is corded.

Logitech. I've had a Razer before and it had major issues within 2 years. My first Logitech wireless keyboard took all sorts of abuse and worked fine for several years. It still works and I keep it as a backup.

Bought a G915 in 2019 and it has been great. G915 has 3 styles of mechanical switches you can choose from.

I use a Logitech MX Keys at work that I really like and enjoy typing on. At home, I have a Razer BlackWidow with orange switches I use for my gaming PC.

Anyone have a Cimetech keyboard? I had either a Logitech or a Microsoft wireless mouse back in the day, but my current job I started out with a Desktop with a wired mouse. I dug out my old laptop bag and tried to use it when they gave us all laptops a few years back, and it wouldn't work so I ordered a little cheap wireless mouse from Amazon and it is a Cimetech. I love it, and was hoping their keyboards are decent as well. I was just going to order a wireless keyboard and saw they had combos on Amazon.

Wife had that one...lasted her less than a year, most of the number/letters wore off the keys in the first 6 months, then most of the 'home row' keys went out for lunch and never came back shortly after that.

Thanks. I'll skip it then. I just saw the brand when I was searching and I love the mouse I have from them.

You may not be old enough to have had the pleasure of using IBM's buckle-spring mechanical keyboards.

But you don't have to be.

This company bought the molds and still make them.

I don't think they'd tolerate this in the office because of the noise but damn these are satisfying to use.

I love my mechanical KB but it is LOUD. Hear it clearly with my hearing aids laying on the desk and the battery panels open.

With that said, I use a Gamdias brand mechanical that's coming up on 3 years old. Switches are guaranteed to last 15 million keystrokes each. Probably means the [ and ] along with prntscrn and pause/break will outlive me by many years.
