Anyone make the switch to T-Mobile with Starlink service?

Just wondering how's it going. Who was your previous provider and is the T-Mobile service just as good or better?
How is the satellite service indoors?
I'm thinking of switching from AT&T because I like the idea of satellite service from my cell phone.

The satellite signal is not going to work at all indoors. But if you are indoors odds are pretty good that you will have regular cellular service.

I tried it out in the beta test last month when I was at my hunting camp in Mississippi.
Don’t hardly have any cell service there and had to go outside to send a text out on the satellite signal on my iPhone 13 Pro.
WiFi was down at the camp and was able to get a little satellite signal for texts to come through leaving it next to a window overnight.

Similar for me when we were camping at the beach at fort Morgan back in June. Cell signal was spotty. I would show 5G then it would flip to LTE then go into SOS mode. I signed up for the beta and was able to send texts to family back at home but pictures wouldn’t come through or send. It also didn’t let me know the message had sent. Apparently my wife received it and responded but it was about an hour later before it showed up on my phone. Better than nothing but you do have to be outside and patient with it.

I switched to T-mobile wifi internet months ago. It works great. They mail you two white boxes you plug one into the other and then plug them in and it is simple.
They work great. You can go to t-mobile.com and type your address to see if available.
Don't worry about moving the boxes around to get excellent coverage. I set them on a bottom floor near a window on the second shelf of a small coffee table.
I had no idea it was tied to starlink? It has only gone down for a few minutes maybe twice in almost year, and you just reboot it.

Does it try to locate the tower with the best signal?

all iPhones can use satellite, even at&t iphones. I just did this last week in the mountains with an at&t iphone 15.

Hmmm … I have doubts it’s very good. IIRC StarLink uses Ku/Ka bands and neither of which are very good at penetrating modern construction.
However, I’m thinking it could be a game changer for hikers/outdoorsmen/RVers.

I’ll be curious how it performs during the next hurricane.
My wife has ATT, I have TMobile, and my work line is Verizon. Hopefully in a disaster situation between those three plus T-Mobile star link and the iPhone globalstar sat connection I will able to stay in touch with family.

I'd rather NOT know how it works during the next hurricane. Feel like SC, Ga, or even MS is due for one, not LA.

Used it deep in the Tennessee mountains with the same results.

It was free... I think I sent a single text via satellite the entire time I had it.
