I figure a daily thread for all non-US match days would be a good idea

Today's matches: (all times listed are Central Time)
Qatar vs. Switzerland 2:00 PM (Group B)
Brazil vs. Morocco 5:00 PM (Group C)
Haiti vs. Scotland 8:00 PM (Group C)
Australia vs. Turkiye 11:00 PM (Group D)

Qatar & Switzerland draw 1-1

The 1st set of matches for Group B is complete

All 4 teams have 1 point (Canada, Switzerland, Qatar, Bosnia & Herzegovina)

Yeah that’s gotta feel like an L for the Swiss

Definitely feels like a dub for the Sheikhs

Swiss haven’t been the same since Shaqiri hung them up. Outside of Embolo they’re the pits offensively.

Unfortunately these results that raise some eyebrows ultimately don't mean much considering 3/4s of the teams that finish 3rd in their group will still advance. This format sucks. The teeth of the group stage have been removed.

Agreed but there is still going to be a random good team that doesn't advance.

I will say, I've enjoyed Fox's studio/on-site coverage of the tournament so far.

The Henry/Zlatan/Lalas table works, especially with Rebecca Lowe leading the charge, and now we got Clarence Seedorf in the mix too

Morocco feels ripe for a letdown this tournament.

All of the good feelings after making the semifinal run, but now they are on the other side of the world, they had the AFCON debacle and their manager took over last week.

I feel like Brazil is overvalued on their historical reputation, but what do I know?

I did not realize that Morocco is ranked as high as they are.

They said this is the highest ranked matchup in the group stage.

Both teams are handling the ball well but Morroco looks great

is there something wrong with the sound on the feed? there’s this electronic/motor like dull constant noise underneath everything. only channel that’s doing it. it sounds like the vuvuzelas but worse

It's weird seeing Brazil play so passive and without the ball
I do think Morocco is due for a letdown but they should still safely advance to next round
