Who is Zlatan. Been seeing him here and in commercials. Assuming he was a famous player back in the day.

If tweet fails to load, click here. Zlatan was one of the best strikers in the world during the 2000s-2010s.
I enjoyed the becoming Zlatan documentary on Netflix. He moved clubs a lot during his career.

Thanks. I would have never guessed Sweden. I would have guessed Greece or an Eastern block country.

Pretty sure his dad is Bosnian. He got emotional when they advanced to knockouts

He had a pretty rough childhood

Father Bosnian and mother Croatian I think
Grew up in slums in Malmo Sweden
Literally would steal bikes to go to training
His dad was an abusive alcoholic after the war, never had anything to eat in the fridge
True rags to riches story
I love Zlatan - his autobio I am Zlatan is a fun quick read

To be fair, saying you recognize Thierry Henry and not Zlatan sounds like a troll attempt

In the commercials he is in they make him out to be very arrogant. Is that just a persona he played?

Definitely not a troll. I only watch WC. I remember Thierry from a previous one.

Storms and lightning popping up all around South Florida. I hope this match doesn’t get delayed.

Like I said I only watch WC and before this one mainly on Team USA games. I’m really enjoying it though. Maybe because I’m older now and can respect the skill involved. Thinking I might take up watching club matches occasionally. Just trying to learn brother.

Not really. He's very much the "I'm the best in the world" type of player, and he backed it up a lot. Scored some ridiculously flashy goals
