I get what your saying but lots of people still don't leave that regional bubble where everything is pretty similar. Its not like in Europe you cross into another country and its night and day.

Visited Rome and Paris while I was over there last year, and I can't think of any 2 places that are less alike

Spent a week in Rome last summer and really enjoyed it. Haven't been to Paris.

You're talking about states. I'm talking about countries. There is a massive world of difference between comparing France to Germany and comparing Louisiana to Texas.
